Amazing player, a lefty, made his name with the minimalist jazz trio Back Door back in the 70s. Plays a Precision in a unique style, quite guitar like. Well worth seeking out. The self titled Back Door debut album is great and on Spotify etc. Edited August 26, 2024 by pineweasel 2 1 Quote

pineweasel Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 I’ve just read that online retailer Left for Dead is closing down. They have a couple of Sandbergs left with decent price reductions: https://www.leftfordead.rocks/leftybassguitars 3 Quote

LeftyJ Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 Thomann have a killer Cyberweek deal on the Sadowsky Metroexpress Hybrid 5 fretless. I ordered mine on Monday and received it today: Sadowsky MetroExpress 21-5 Hyb BK FL LH – Thomann United Kingdom Thomann are still clearing their stock of the first series, as the new and improved series has been available for a while now. The one I got has a serial number dating it back to 2021. Not sure yet if this one has had all the initial QC issues fixed or if it's from before that, I'm still at work and have yet to plug it in. Issues were mostly electronics-related (noisy preamp, poor string-to-string output balance due to P pickup having two coils below the A-string - even if only one has pole pieces). 1 Quote

That one has been up before with a long story about the incredible luthier blah blah... Still seems like something that you could easily knock together yourself. There's no way I'd buy something like that blind, and certainly not at that price. Quote

rasher80 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 @uk_lefty it really does.... its a YOB bass for me too which makes it very tempting! Quote
uk_lefty Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Haha I only share the ones I want someone else to buy so I don't "accidentally" make an investment in it myself!! 1 Quote
Piers_Williamson Posted January 30 Posted January 30 The looks of this bass are tremendous, if not particularly faithful to an original Jazz https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/nash-guitars-jb-63-sonic-blue-medium-aged-left-handed-pre-owned/ 1 Quote
JottoSW1 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Westone Thunder 1 a . £250.00. Located in Kettering. Looks rather like the one I sold in 1993ish , sigh..... On F/B Marketplace (fwiw etc etc, but looks legit.) As I'm on gear abstinence thread I'm posting for my own ( vicarious ) benefit. 1 Quote

uk_lefty Posted February 7 Posted February 7 I was thinking about getting an OLP and having it made fretless.... I really cannot justify it at all now, sadly. Quote
