Factory fretless never seen one before

It plays really nice been after a 4 string fretless for some time

Awesome! I've never seen one either and I do a lot of "research"! Also been looking out for a four string fretless. I've got the Harley Benton jaco-alike on order but tempted to go for something more special and ideally unlined.

Well, reading the thread it actually seems a no brainer more than a try before you buy

depends how much they are new, if they use parts that are available (i.e. ones they can get cheap) quality could be variable

I don't think there are new Brandoni basses anymore, I just saw that the owner died. Quickly checked their website.

I saw that, YOB bass for me as well 😄

There was a guy who used to sell lefty Ricks, he had quite a few and some rare ones as well. I was nearly tempted by a Burgundyglo 4003 about 15 years back, but I plumped for a 4004L which I really liked but moved it on for a CIJ P a few years later.

Chances are this is the same bass I have here now!

More than possible!

I purchased it in Music Ground in Manchester in 2007 and moved it on to a chap in Yorkshire around 18 months later.

I think it might have appeared on Arni's site since then, but not 100% it is the same instrument.

I last played it in the Bass Gallery, where it loitered for quite a while.  It's interesting in that it has a lighter body than a normal Wal 2 and it had some pretty bespoke fretless markers as well
