pineweasel
That's a genuine Korean Fender Squier Series, circa 1993-94. Quite tempting. Looks like the jack socket is missing though?
uk_lefty
I did think it odd to put that logo on if making a fake... But couldn't search the serial number anywhere. Puzzling. Price seems a bit strong for a squier, even though it is "fender" logo'd Edited January 12, 2018 by uk_lefty

Having had a nose around it seems you're right; ply body, mediocre hardware and pickups. Certainly overpriced.
LeftyJ
Too bad, as there have been rather excellent Korean Fenders AND Squiers! I quite like the late 90s Squier Pro Tone series for example.

LeftyJ
Quote CMI - Cleartone Musical Instruments were an offshoot of Marshall - mostly imports although there were some home-grown amps with that name. I think you'll find that the imported instruments like the example in the OP came from whichever Japanese factory was offering the best deal for a particular quality of instrument at the time. Quoting BigRedX from this earlier thread. I've heard mixed opinions on these, but mostly good ones.
PaulWarning
this looks a decent price considering the cost of new Precisions these days, don't like sunburst myself https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152870120346?ul_noapp=true

Tricky to clean too, being oiled instead of lacquered. Prabably requires sanding down a fair bit and re-oiling. Or, if you don't mind the dirt, just oil. mxm
Can’t work out it’s age, bridge suggests early 90’s (transition - longer with mutes) but the serial looks to be an ‘L’ 00...’ prefix which would date it mid-90’s, where it would normally have a cut-down bridge ?!!! ...cool bass though. sblueplanet
Even if that bass isn’t a geniune Moon then that it is a complete steal.
uk_lefty
No idea what it is, if it really is a "custom" bass you'd think it was worth over 200. Could it just be a can of white spray paint taken to an old Samik? Can't think of any other bass with that pickup placement in lefty. LeftyJ
It even has a Moon decal on the headstock, but something is definitely off. The angled neck pickup is very Moon, but the bridge pickup is too far from the bridge, and overall it just doesn't look "right".
