That's a genuine Korean Fender Squier Series, circa 1993-94. Quite tempting. Looks like the jack socket is missing though?

it is, sorry Lefty J for doubting you, bit naughty of the seller to describe it as an Precision Standard and leaving Squier out of the title and description, apparently they're nothing special (ply body?)

Having had a nose around it seems you're right; ply body, mediocre hardware and pickups. Certainly overpriced.

CMI - Cleartone Musical Instruments were an offshoot of Marshall - mostly imports although there were some home-grown amps with that name.

I think you'll find that the imported instruments like the example in the OP came from whichever Japanese factory was offering the best deal for a particular quality of instrument at the time.

Quoting BigRedX from this earlier thread. I've heard mixed opinions on these, but mostly good ones.

Wow, that fingerboard sure is dirty. Tricky to clean too, being oiled instead of lacquered. Prabably requires sanding down a fair bit and re-oiling. Or, if you don't mind the dirt, just oil.

Can’t work out it’s age, bridge suggests early 90’s (transition - longer with mutes)  but the serial looks to be an ‘L’ 00...’ prefix which would date it mid-90’s, where it would normally have a cut-down bridge ?!!!

...cool bass though.

It even has a Moon decal on the headstock, but something is definitely off. The angled neck pickup is very Moon, but the bridge pickup is too far from the bridge, and overall it just doesn't look "right".

Oh yes !  Even the headstock is wrong.  Without seeing it in the flesh I’d heed this post...

Carvin Timothy B. Schmitt (The Eagles) signature in France that has been dropping in price gradually but still remained unsold for at least a year now. Passive, with just a volume control (not even pickup pan):

Hideous but affordable Maruszczyk Hellwood 5, in France too:
