njr911
It's boxed and packed well but who are the best people to use to ship a bass, it's only going to Brum but will need insurance. Ta
CamdenRob
Its a minefield... Long thread here about it http://basschat.co.uk/topic/156589-couriers-packing/page__pid__3085482__st__180#entry3085482 UPS via interparcel appears to be the most often suggested way of doing it, but there are horror stories there as there are with them all... I sent a high value bass via UPS to Denmark recently and including insurance it was around £400... which is ridiculous... It's also necessary to look into what the insurance actually covers you for as quite often basses are excluded.
CamdenRob
Essentially if there is any other way, don't use a courier...

ambient
Train, have a day out, meet someone new.Train fare can be ridiculously cheap if you book in advance.
ribbetingfrog
UPS through interparcel always been great for me. Be sure to avoid Parcelforce as their insurance doesn't cover musical instruments. Edited July 11, 2016 by ribbetingfrog
njr911
I have send through Interparcel and insured it. Cost £30 but cheep compared to the piece of mind if a £880 bass goes missing. Thanks for all your help

Delberthot
Also, the insurance isn't valid unless the bass is in a hard case
Musashimonkey
I would have thought that guitar guitar would have given you a return courier option using the same service they sent it out to you on. That's a little disappointing to hear they made you arrange it! I could understand if they wanted you to pay a contribution or their costs for return shipping due to the error. Delberthot
According to the website they arrange this and take it off the cost of the item being returned if you contact them first http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/terms.asp
