12stringbassist
Quite pleased with this. Plays better than the Gibson's I've been near. Got some cash off the list price too. Had a superb deal (half price-ish) on amazon pointed out to me on a sunburst Epiphone Thunderbird 4 Pro, so snagged that too. A good day's snagging. lowhand_mike
nice, the only thing that puts me off is the size of the headstock, hows the neck dive on that?
I really like the look of these... with that spec and hardware you can't go wrong really. The pickup spacing is a bit variable it seems. It looks like yours has the modern arrangement - some have the neck pickup a bit further back, toward the bridge like the 60s ones. I've often considered buying one and popping some Thunderbuckers in. dudewheresmybass
I had the chance to a/b one of these with the gibbo a while back. It totally destroyed the gibbo. Better tone, weight, playability etc... I would take the epi over the Gibson any day
DarkHeart
Theyre even better with a Hipshot Supertone attached
alyctes
Do they do a fretless version? I've been wondering what one would sound like for a while...
DarkHeart
The Gibson pickups sound awesome and the neck through is 10 times better than a bolt on, get one and defret it and put the strap button where mine is....no neck dive!
Dandelion
I love mine. Under that white paint there is a mahogany and walnut laminated neck and body. Gorgeous inside and out. No neck dive either. It is a good live bass cos when slung low you can't help but adopt rock star poses.
12stringbassist
This is the other one that I ordered. The bolt-on neck version. Both have a little bit of neck dive, but I have never ever been bothered by that. The beck thru white on is the better of the two. I ordered one of the bolt-on's via amazon marketplace and part of the body near the controls was smashed. Returned it.
