Cigar Box Guitars

Hello All

I have taken the pots and pickpups out of an old AXL fretless (neck warped) and I want to use the electronics in a Cigar Box Guitar. I have made an acoustic one already.

My problem: the old bass had 3 pots and I only want one, I have removed the other two, so far so good. The earth wire originally went underneath the tail plate, this isn't option on my CBG.
I am in no way an electrician so can someone offer an alternative idea for earthing
