Kev
GAS attacked, so I bought this fantastic piece of German engineering the other day:- Arrived today in time for practice tonight. It is sensational. Ill be controversial; if there is such a thing as 'heft' then, rarely for a Class D, this thing delivers it. Incredible depth and punch to the sound. Pushing a good 600w into my Vanderkley when cranked pushing it to its limit, but I could take it past around 11oclock for fear of bringing the rehearsal room ceiling down. Really impressed, and suits me more than the Gallien Krueger Fusion 500 it replaces. In truth, at volume tonally there is little to split the two when flat, with the Tecamp having that mysterious 'heft' and a slightly warmer, punchier sound, compared to the edgyness of the GK. The Tecamp's Taste control is far more usable than the GK's Contour for me, and it does get louder. I really like the EQ points on the Tecamp as well Headphone amp is really, really good too. Best I have used, actually Edited July 15, 2016 by Kev
franzbassist
Couldn't agree more. I have a Bonafide (basically two Puma 500s in one casing) and a 300. Fab amps.
M@23
I'd agree with all of that 😎
franzbassist
If anyone is interested, "flat" on a Puma is everything at noon apart from bass cut to nearly 11, and hi mids boosted to nearly 1.
bassace
Yes, my 500 is all I need for DB. Clean and responsive to eq. I have a second one that lives in the footwell of the car - just in case.

M@23
And Vanderkley too, great minds!
They make a good couple, don't they?! The Vanderkley have such a clear deep voice which seems to pair so well with the Puma. I feel like I've struck gold with them.
Defo
I too have a 900 with a Vanderkley rig, a 1 x 12 and a 2 x 10. Just gigged last night in a packed pub, played with my Bongo HH. I play 80s/90s covers and it sounds just great, warm and punchy and miles of headroom. I've played a whole ton of stuff down the years but I think I can honestly say this is my favourite setup so far (waits for GAS........)
