lojo
Can anyone help me please What is the best way to get backing tracks where certain instruments could be muted , for example either full track or mute bass, or drums and bass , keys etc ? It's a long time since I messed around with midi and cubase, so I'm really out of touch. Looking for a good service providing quality tracks and the best software for live situations. lojo
Going to bump this , another plea to see if anyone on here is using backing tracks ? To add, we currently have old backing tracks files which include backing vocals , but they are audio files , although clearly with midi instruments , but obviously we can't edit Edited July 24, 2016 by lojo
ribbetingfrog
I use http://www.karaoke-version.co.uk/ Not sure if it is exactly what you are after. They are decent covers, when you buy a track you can download it as much as you want and can keep or leave out any of the instruments each time. BottomE
I use either midi files (huge variety in quality) for "known" tracks if i want some chords and a rhythm to play along to. Then just assign instruments via Cubase to make them sound half-decent Youtube has loads of backing tracks with bass removed. You can convert YouTube pages to .mp3 and import into Cubase. Alternatively, get the original off of Youtube and then eq the bass out (once you've had a good listen to the original line). There are lots of backing track services you might want to consider using one of the above methods should keep you busy for a long time. We use it for keyboard parts when playing live and just add a click track.
mingsta
Is this for practicing against? I use sweet midi for iPad, then get the midi tracks I need off the net. well worth checking out.
lojo
Thanks for replies
Is this for practicing against?
No its for gigging, so we would like BVs on the tracks and I assume midi music , so we can mute certain instruments and have them played live or not. On some tracks we import the individual tracks into a DAW and add a little eq /reverb etc here and there to really bring them to life. That said they're definitely pretty good straight out of the box.

Excellent quality and as pointed out you can download as many versions as you like. We used to use MiDi tracks but there is such a difference in quality of some tracks and some can be absolutely appalling.
