umcoo
Hi all, Moving on my 1985 Yamaha BB1600. I picked it up from the Netherlands a few months back, but I'm more of a Jazz Bass kinda guy so this is sat collecting dust. It's a passive P/J with a nice slim neck. Doesn't weigh much at all - I would hazard a guess at around the 8lbs mark. Can do that classic P sound, but the J pickup adds a nice growl and zing. I always run it with both pickups fully open and tone on full. Same model as used by Tony Kanal from No Doubt. Neck is nice and straight, frets are in great condition and the truss rod works as it should. There are a few bumps and scrapes as to be expected from an older instrument, I've got pictures of the two main ones - a ding through to the wood on the top horn and the top of the headstock is chipped. Comes with a non-original beat up tatty case which it came in, one of the clasps is broken but I suppose it does its job in getting it transported around. I'm based in Lancaster and happy for prospective buyers to test it out. Can post it as well. Looking for $450 plus £15 shipping within the UK. Any questions, please ask. milesahead
Just a quick note to thank Umcoo for the sale of this bass. I've been looking for a vintage Yamaha BB1600 for ages and it was a pleasure buying from you. The bass arrived safe and sound, packaged very securely. Quick and helpful responses were much appreciated. The bass itself is in great condition for a 30 year old instrument, and the slimline neck makes playing nice and easy. Thanks again Umcoo from a very happy new owner.
