gypsyjazzer
Does anyone know what is the type of putty that is plyable / can be removed easily and does not go hard and used to attach a pickup to a bass / guitar etc. Some pickups come with such putty. Anyone know the make / where to obtain?
Beer of the Bass
Thomann sell the black putty that's supplied with AKG contact pickups. It works OK and seems relatively kind to finishes but can spread out and creep after a while. Ordinary stationery white tack seems fine too - I've used both. MoonBassAlpha
You could try using Sugru and make a permanently molded rubbery attachment thing, if there's some part you can mold it around. You're only limited by your imagination with that stuff. It's a moldable, formable silicone rubber that you mold like plasticene but sets in rubbery form. Very neat stuff! deksawyer
If it's for a contact type transducer as previously suggested, then bees wax is also an option. D.
