Regarding the Thumpinator:

I've not noticed a particular difference in the sound of my gear. However, I have thought that at times the low end sounded a tiny bit less flabby and more pronounced. Placebo effect perhaps? Maybe. I need to wait until I'm in a large, crowded pub to see if it helps my single 1x12 poke through the mix at all.

I'd say the thumpinator definitely depends on your amp setup, if the amp head is already filtering the range, then the Thumpinator pretty much has nothing to do. Volume is also a factor, at low practice volumes, the speakers won't move much no matter what you're putting through them.

Here's my streamlined board:

I've just swapped the Big Muff out for the Copilot Orbit gated fuzz....which is nice! lol....haven't tried it at rehearsal yet.
I've also taken off the Boss input selector I had on, just because I haven't been using my synth much.....all bass guitar!

I've kept the effects loop on though (initially I just had it to bypass the pedals when I had the synth on), but I quite like having the input and output of the entire board in one location.
I've included the recent soundclip I did of the board (forgive the buzzy jack cable I had to use). Thats obviously with the Muff, will do one with the Orbit asap

I know, terrible isn't it! 5 mins in photoshop or a quick touch up in iPhoto would have cleaned that carpet. :)

I used photoshop just to crop, I didn't want to alter the image in any way :)

My dog gets crumbs everywhere.

What did you used to raise the height of the footswitch on the super fatman?

You're exactly right - that's a collection, not a pedalboard. [\pedantry] :)

Theres plenty of space left for an OC2... :) To be honest I wouldn't use it much with this project. It's soooooooo NOT Dubstep :)

There's just room for one pedal no bigger than a Boss unit. Either an OC2 or an envelope filter. Or maybe I'll just leave it as is...

What no envelope filter in a funk project?

Envelope filter??? The Moog or the GR would be a verrry tight squeeze! :)

I think that came up as I was typing!

I'd go for the Aguilar Twin or Mu-Tron if you are feeling flushed.

For once I'll keep it on a budget and keep my eye on the or sale forums. I own a Groove Regulator which is on my main setup and I do love it! It's a bit too large to fit on this little board though, and maybe a little deep and sunny for what I do. Needs to be sensibly priced and no larger than a Boss/EBS unit.

Just arrived today from a BC'er. Awesomeness in a nano-sized box. I'm about to fire the keyboard player :).

Yeah baby! works like the Boss SYB 5 - trigger a drone, hold the pedal down and play over the top. This has a latch mode as well so that once the drone has been triggered your foot can come off it to do something more useful (wah pedal, up on a wedge etc...). Which is nice.

You are very observant, nobody has noticed that before you....

I do that on pedals with crowded knobs and switches. Basically I took 3 or 4 metal hex nuts, used a cyanoacrylate glue to stack them on top of each other (very similar to Krazee Glue) and then finally used some heat shrink tubing to finish it off. It allows the footswitch to be much taller so I don't accidentally break the mini toggles on the pedal.

I am quite pleased with my "invention" :)
