s'alright, i'll just quote your name when i've got the funds for one and hope for a free t-shirt.. .

edit: i'd definitely go for the gate that you've had added though, as i really like the sound from my Depth Charge, but the gate could do with being 'tighter' ..iykwim..

The gate knob on it is a little odd... At first I thought the pedal was broken as no sound came out. Only the last 30% of the knob lets sound through from minimum gate like I have in the vid to really pinched and then silence in no time. Ryan was going to set it inside at a preset 'minimum' setting as I spec'd but decided he'd add a knob for the little control of I wanted to tweak.

The pedal is available with a second footswitch to turn the hate on and off if needed too.

Hi. I'm Andy and I'm a pedal-aholic.

I used to be clean, but after a visit to buy a preamp off Shep, I decided to do a little *experimenting"
It all started with just one pedal.... A simple chorus... But that just led to the harder stuff. Distortion and compressors , the highs and lows from Auto Wahs and the sweepers like Phasers and Flangers..
Now I'm a Hardcase Pedaltrain guy who has to get a couple of fixes a month.
I got it bad... And I've only been using for a couple of months...

I got a pedal habit ....and I got it good!

DON'T END UP LIKE ME!

Fender P -> Polytune -> Keeley loop/bypass -> Philosophers Tone -> Groove Regulator -> B3K -> Hall of Fame -> Phase 90 -> Vortex -> Unichorus -> Thumpinator -> Amp

Hi, I'm Andy and I'm also a preamp-aholic. :)

To be honest bud I've not really given it a flexing yet... I'm still trying to put a home studio together and when it happens I'll be putting all the pre's together and trying a shoot out....

After I listened to your stuff I was impressed and inspired enough that I decided my attitude to a clean signal path might be wrong....
And ever since then I've been smitten by the pedal bug. However, I'm being really strict, and keeping to only the pedals which fit onto my Pt jr. I don't think I have the savvy to run something as extensive as your mighty board! So I'll stick to the basics...

Boss TU-2 - Marshall JH-1 Jackhammer - Behringer BDI-21 Preamp.

Next additions are going to be a proper power supply (Diago or Harley Benton) not a daisy chain, A Joyo JF12 Fuzz/Ultimate Octave, some form of Octaver, most likely an MXR, and a chorus.

FWIW the Diago Powerstation is a daisy chain power system, doesn't have the glaring noise and power limitation flaws that cheap designs do though. If you're worried about needing isolated outputs then you'd be better getting a Voodoo Labs PP2 or something similar, though I personally see no advantage in using such a system with your setup (or my own, for that matter). If you're thinking about getting some 12V pedals though I'd serious consider getting something with dedicated 12v outputs however. Anything 9/18v -ve dc will likely work grand on a daisy chain style supply.

By daisy chain i was meaning the cheapo bog standard type things that i'm currently using, not a higher quality one like the Diago. I'd love something like a PP2, but at the moment i can't afford anything in that kind of region, and have no need for something that big as like you say, i'm only using 3 pedals. All i need is something that doesn't cost a fortune and powers my pedals without noise wherever i am (My daisy chain only has noise in my bedroom for some reason, it was fine downstairs and in the rehearsal studio)

Keep an eye out for a Johnny Shread Freak power supply. It's a copy of a Diago. I bought one from Shep/pantherairsoft recently for VERY little money and it's a great wee PSU.

Yeah this is what you want. Basically you'll only get them second for the known future, so check on the classifieds here or on ebay. I'm sure when/if they start making them again someone will say on the forum.

Looks like you've got plenty coming and going Shep. What are the plans for your board then or is that a closely guarded secret until you've put it together?
Not too much coming and going - I'm just streamlining a little. There will be a layout change taking place and a few modifications. I should be running under the 20 pedal marker by time I'm done though :)

Moment of realisation: after my massive pedal purge last month, I've gone from way over 20 down to a meager 8 effects pedals, and even then we're talking very utilitarian pedals. What is wrong with me?! I really hope my M9 delivers in the delay/modulation departments when I FINALLY get to try it out in a few weeks.

Is the EHX freeze really as good as everyone seems to say it is? I kind of wish that I had picked up Silent Fry's on here for cheaps when it came up just to see.

I'll do a demo soon. It's massive!

On another note...

A few pages back I mentioned my 'summer project' - to use my current pedals to create a 'stripped down' board for smaller shows and for backing MC's etc, rather than performing as Our Helical Mind in general.

I've spent a few weeks planning and the board I settled on was a Diago Showman - large by many bassists standards, but tiny for me. It's was the most suitable size for my essentials. Its not powered or cabled yet (plugs in sockets to show me how much space I have) but here is draft 1...

Proposed signal chain is...
Stage Clix Wireless >
Boss OC-2 >
TC Electronic Polytune Mini >
FUZZROCIOUS Grey Stache >
WMD Geiger Counter >
WMD Super FatMan >
Custom Iron Ether Xerograph (in the space marked with tape) >
Moogerfooger Cluster Flux >
TC Electronic Flashback Delay

The MP-201 will control 3 parameters of the Xero and the feedback of the Cluster Flux.

It's likely to change... But this should work nice!
