Current config is below. Highlights include a scrap plywood board from the shed, and an OC2 I got given 25 years ago by a mate who didn't know what to make of it.

All sized to fit in an old flight case I had lying around. One day I'll route out a bit of the underside to fit the power supply underneath...

Hi @admiralchew, fantastic boards. Are you using a Rockboard Tres 3.3 for any of them perchance? And if so, do you have the hard case for said board? I’d like to know the depth of the case… and where did you get the 3.3 if indeed you have one.

I'm afraid they're all 2.X or 4.X boards. I found that the lattice sits in an awkward place when using top jack pedals so most I would be able to get out of a 3.X would be one row, or two rows for a 5.X. I think that would be different for side jacks pedals and for those willing to turn them side ways like a heretic (I'm kidding but the compulsion is strong!). One issue I have found with the 2.X cases is that I can't close some of the cases when I have full size pedals on (the minis are fine). I ordered a 4.1 case from Thomann but that's the only case I've bought separately. Other than one or two boards from Andersons, everything the boards have all come from Thomann.

Least number of pedals ever for me. The volume pedal is because I never managed to properly balance the levels of my C4 patches. The tuner isn't an effect so really I went out with just one pedal.

Nice! Great idea to control the patches.

Cool! What's the pedal on the bottom right? I like how clean it is and I'm enjoying your OC-2's origin story.

Oh, I forgot about that one. It's a fuzz - my take on the bazz fuss circuit. I can't remember exactly what the component values I settled on were, but contrary to its appearance, it doesn't do "subtle"!

Haha, the nondescript ones are always the best and most destructive. The Sanford and Sonny Bluebeard fuzz looks nondescript but it's an absolute beast of a pedal.

Cheers mate yeah I see what you mean. The Tres shape works well for me because my pedals are massive and fit just right in a single row. However they’re also quite tall pedals, and the whole board is lifted up in slightly taller rubber feet to make room for stuff underneath. I think the longer boards have correspondingly tall bags/cases so a 3.3 hard case might just work (the 3.2 bag JUST fits). I may order one to try from Thomann. Cheers 🥂

This is my current setup for my fretless.

1. Boss OC-5 Octave: Tried quite a few Octave pedals and nothing has beaten it for tracking and tone. A wonderful pedal.

2. Zoom MS-60B: Has been hacked and is used for ambient effects using some delays and reverbs to mimic a cello and orchestral sounds.

3. EBS UniChorus: Been through a lot of chorus pedals but after seeing @Dood review, it seemed to be just what I was after and it is. Amazing Chorus pedal.

4. Walrus Audio Slo: my main reverb and used for some ambient effects as well.

5. Ampeg Opto Compressor: Sounds great and just sprinkles lots of magic goodness on my tone.

6. Sansamp BDDI v2: Absolutely brilliant, I wished I'd got one sooner.

I wish I could mount my power supply under my Pedaltrain Metro 16 but it's too tall. If I could then I'd also have my TC Electronic Spark Booster and maybe a Phaser pedal or EBS Envelope Filter as well.

... always fit a Spark Booster and have the PSU off the board, or dual locked to the side. Then get a Cioks PSU (or another one that would fit underneath the Metro). Or put some feet extensions on the Metro and see how that goes?

Cool set up - looks like it covers a lot of bases. It's more or less where I'm heading with a specific fretless board I'm building in my mind. I hadn't considered reverb... how does it handle the octave down?

I haven't looked at dimensions but the MXR Mini Iso brick is about the size of one of those yoghurt topped flapjacks you find in a petrol station... See my pedal board on the previous page for size reference against the Opto Comp. Could be worth a look if you eventually want to get the Spark on there.

Reverb with a fretless is incredible, for me an absolute must. I actually had two on my board at one point. If you want to try and good  fun, but cheap one, then I can really recommend the Mooer A7 Ambient one.

Anyone packing a DI under their board?

I just grabbed the SLO which has replaced my Capo for now but I’m really missing the pre DI for recording a dry version. I think having that dry/clean DI available is the last blocker really for me making the call on which to keep.

I currently have a Rockboard 3.0 so there’s a reasonable amount of clearance.

I have the same power supply and the metro 24. If you get little rubber feet out of a hardware store (cost me about 2-3 pounds I think) they give you the elevation to fit the supply underneath. Only annoying thing about the supply is the fiddly power plug is the a bit difficult to plug in under the board, especially when it's dark. I ended up making my own adapter to attach to the edge of the board, if your handy with a soldering iron it makes things easier and a smoother setup.

Latest pedalboard.

HX Stomp I sold one a couple of years ago as I didn't 'get on' with it, but since then ... having tried various other multi-fx I've come back to one; with its ability to run a frequency split parallel path, the power of on device editing and the new fx in the latest v3.7 firmware it ticks my boxes.  Also two years of fiddling has helped me learn a bit more about what I actually like/need/use (Much more learning to be done still!).  Now to spend the hours tuning in the 'perfect' sounds ... Ian Martin Allison where are you lol!

MXR bass octave deluxe in the Stomp FX loop; during my brief foray into single pedals I fell in love with this unit.  If I can get a Stomp effect to sound in the same ballpark I will take it off, allowing me to use a smaller board.

Morningstar MC6 MkII Mindblowingly flexible MIDI controller.  The board configuration is setup to have the Stomp switches in Stomp mode and add FS4/5 on the Morningstar, this gives me the ability to on/off 5 fx. The top three Morningstar switches allow for selection of snapshots and the bottom right is setup for tuner/tap tempo.  A long press on either of the bottom left two allows for shifting up/down a Stomp preset. (Based on a slightly tweaked version of the setup here https://eitanmuir.com/2022/01/03/hx-stomp-mc6-elegance/)

Vexpress into Stomp for controlling effect levels.

All mounted on a Metro 16 and powered from a Krisdonia Laptop Power brick (It should give me 6+ hours of mains free playing time).

Little update on mine.  Cannot express how GOOD the OC-2 and OS sound going into some Chorus on the Quad Cortex, learning to love bass synth again 😁

WIP reshuffle, cannae decide what to include and where. Part of me is tempted to grab a RB 2.2 or something and having just the Canvas tuner > HX One > Dagger > Model Fet > SLO and keep it a little more compact.

Then keep the Science Mother, Halberd and perhaps the MOD Dwarf on a second small board.

Its all very stressful!

Well this is where we settled for now:

IMG_9855.thumb.jpeg.1f279ff2a826b146ba44e4d74ba36335.jpeg

Will hopefully switch bits around once I grab a Cali76, will ditch the Ditto and squish it in at the top.

This gives me a few options, from the SLO I have the DI along with the output and thru wired up to the patch bay, I also have the power amp/DI signal from the Mother making it super easy to use this for guitar however I need.

Flyrig.thumb.jpg.446292bb2a3b7b4b51cd052cefca50a7.jpg

Revision2 ... closer to a flyrig.

Much to my amazement (and delight) my M-VAVE MIDI pedal connects over bluetooth to the HX Stomp.

Replacing the Morningstar MC6 and removing the MXR Octave (I'm finding the HX pitch shift blocks work well enough for me) means the layout fits on a smaller board (OK, it overhangs ... must find an alternative at some point) and is lighter then Revision 1 (A few posts earlier).

The left three M-VAVE switches are tap->select snapshot;  the left two are long press -> select next/previous preset; the rightmost M-VAVE switch is tap->tap tempo, long press -> tuner.

The VEXPRESS into the M-VAVE sends MIDI to control effects levels.

The M-VAVE has its own internal rechargable battery.

The 3 HX Stomp switches select effect on/off.  I might make something like the Pedalnetics Helauxy Duo Mini to add switches 4&5.

decided to tweak the drive section a bit! Swollen pickle and dba germanium filter out and boss Hm2w and Seamoon grind machine in

also simplified the amps I’m using in the kemper using mainly a Hiwatt now with some GK sprinkled in for the cleans

oh also added in a boss ps-2 for so weird pitch delay stuff I want to start doing between songs to fill space

I’ve had quite the change around, hence my sudden flurry of for sale ads!
I’ve joined the helix gang and am very pleased so far.

My favourite thing about this set up is that all my jacks can be inboard of the board edge, away from drunk feet
