xgsjx Posted May 2, 2012 Share Posted May 2, 2012 It's fitting it that would be the tricky bit. The pot would probably be sideways in the body & have a spindle on it. The "arm" would then need some sort of pinion with a spring & a cord to go round the spindle (working in a similar way to an expression pedal). I was thinking of getting hold of a guitar controller off the "rock band" game to see how it works & if I could make something similar. Whether I actually ever do that is another thing all together! [/quote] Yeah, I'd take the showman as it's larger and lighter (than the PT hardcase) BUT, no doubt about it that the PT is the better made and more robust! I regularly set mine droning a chord or double-stop up the dusty end and then when the guitarist dives into a solo just bring it back in without stopping the bass part. If I set the murf to a pattern & we start off in time with it & then turn it off for something like a verse, when I bring it back in the tempo is out. I wasn't charged anything for duty/tax etc. which surprised me as Parcel Force delivered it and they usually stamp a stupid handling fee on even if they fee without is £1.
