Painy
After getting to the point where I was running 2 boards together in order to accommodate all my pedals, I've decided to trim it down to just the stuff I REALLY need for the stuff we're playing. So now it's just Snark tuner, Palmer Deepressor (always on compression to give it some punch), EHX Bass Soul Food (for anything that just needs a little subtle grit and some added harmonic content in the sound), Palmer Ubertreiber (for a more full on overdrive), EBS Octabass (when I need a bit of a synth sound - especially combined with both drives doubled up), Joyo Roll Boost (simple, clean volume boost for when I need a line to stand out). Just received the Harley Benton Power Plant Junior to run it all off yesterday after my cheap and cheerful Chinese Caline PSU from Ebay started to make some funny noises!
After cutting down to these basics a couple of months ago, I decided a pre-amp/DI pedal was the missing piece of the puzzle so an MXR Bass DI+ arrived yesterday. After a bit of a game of Tetris this morning, I've still managed to squeeze everything onto my smallest board. Pretty pleased with this now:-
0175westwood29
even tho this pedal is great it couldnt push the Meatbox of the board! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KV22Wz8yEWE
SpcMnk
Coming from this.. (and this case had some reconfigurations...) Sometimes less is more. This is what I'm using now Nice and portable. Edited September 27, 2016 by SpcMnk
GazWills
nice - I love the simplicity of 4-5 pedal setups, plus most of the time you can squeeze just as many sounds out of these little setups as you can with the huge boards, it just forces you to really explore each pedal, and all the combinations
SpcMnk
Thanks! and spot on! With 20 pedals at my feet I tended to just hit buttons until I got something I liked. If that didn;t work I would get within a week a few new pedals to add... Now, I tweak the knobs until I find something and, thus, get to know how each pedal in relation to the other gives what sounds. Which opens a world of opportunities. Downside.. my phone is full of crappy pictures of my board with barely visible settings...
iamtheelvy
Haven't posted for a while... This board is actually for guitar, but a nice little ambient soundscape maker:
lee650
The latest incarnation of my board! As I sold pretty much my whole previous board and started again 😆 very happy with this set up! But I will try and add an OC2 as i foolishly traded my last one. Got the Octabass and Mastatron in the Wonderlove loop for synth and the Lunar is programmed for chorus/Flanger/Phaser. The soul food for a little grit and all smoothed out by the Diamond! 😆 The deep impact is borrowed! Very cool machine. no clue why my pics have gone wonky!! Roland Rock
To mark my big pedal swap, I started to make a new board yesterday. Just needs the power socket hole to be drilled in the side, then prepping and painting. And pedals attaching of course. Seems like it would be a tad inconvenient to velcro, tie wraps through the holes?

danbowskill
New addition in the Pike Vulcan , with all the 3 leaf/ darkglass drama aside this pedal is absolutely fantastic. It definitely has a sound of its own (having owned multiple versions of Darkglass pedals) . for those looking for that sound inbetween the b7k and vintage. a space left for a cog octave.............but after seeing sk8's new custom cog im thinking of getting shot of all (but the pike)and getting similar :-)
That made me chuckle! You should try the Vintage Ultra, gets VERY close to B7K flat attack tones. It doesn't get as metallic, but certainly covers a very broad range. I can see its already in the classifieds, it was the only pedal you were keeping 3 days ago alongside a Cog!
HazBeen
Pretty stable, but few small tweaks. Romeo2
Here's mine. Reverb and flanger are in the MicroBass's loop, and the tuner gets a signal via Link output so I can tune when mute is on.
Meh! gas is a fickle old thing :-D i should have said it was based on my use of the older Darkglass models (not tried their more recent ultra's ) and to my ears the Pike definitely has different core tones. I'm sure you probably could get most of it with the new DG peds? Because iv'e cranked it in the Classifeds so quick doesn't mean that its not that good or contradict what i said about it, Imo its still a fantastic quality sounding preamp........................ a realization that my gas to find an extra sound that my Amp really doesnt need is the only problem ;-) Edited October 20, 2016 by danbowskill
dannybuoy
Not tried the new VMTD either but prefer my Vulcan to my old VMTD and B7K! Although the B7K still rules the roost for metal.
