How’d ya know?! 🤣 I’m a web developer and general geek.

That’s a nice setup! Really intrigued by the DCX Bass. The Sushi-Nobel DI too. It’s a lot of awesome for such a small board!

Dual monitors, Keyboard, gamepad and whole desk setup gives me that vibe haha I’m in gamedev and a general geek too lol

Thanks man! Ngl but I’m loving the saturated tones I get from the DCX. I mostly use it in low gain settings and to saturate my cleans, get an edge of breakup. From low to high gain settings compared to my Capo(which I still love btw) it works with what I aim for the stuff I do. Just underwhelmed with the B channel of the Capo that’s why I moved on from it.  It makes my Neptunium sound more juicy. So good!

Quickie demo here

Same with the Capo, loved A, B felt redundant. That sounds excellent 👌

Yeah split keyboards and all the monitors is the way to go 🤣

(No one ever asks, but let's pretend.)

People are always asking me how I build my pedal boards. It seems I use a different set up every week they say.

Well here's my 'work in progress' board.

Compress_20241203_194708_8718.thumb.jpg.6594e12178cc7316c7420d7df171fc5f.jpg

It's an old music stand which sits in front of where I sit when I'm awake. If I'm inspired to try something I bung it together here and give it a blast. This week @Quatschmacher in a different post talked about two envelope filters in parallel. I tried it and then thought what if I switched one for a phaser? What if I dirtied the clean sound?, and so on.

I then do my lesson work, or song, learning, or noodling, and use the effects while doing so.

If anything works particularly well or sounds appropriate for a specific song the whole set up might make it to a board. If not it gets ripped out and replaced when the next idea lands.

Why can't all pedals agree on where the input/output and power go?  That's hella neat and tidy, love it.

I'm a big fan of top load jacks and power input together. Origin Effects and 3Leaf Audio are my fave pedal makers at the moment. Wish the strobo mini's input power wasn't on the side, I wouldve bought it. But I'm happy how this turned out and will just use a clip-on tuner.

if you've a DC7 or similar power supply with USB out you could use the USB to power the strobo stomp from the top!

I would ask how do you find using the Stobostomp, but that means interacting with Young Teebs(TM), which is a bad day in anyone's encyclopedia.  I've got the Strobostomp Classic and it's a bit of a chunky unit.

Ah nice to know this. I’m using a CS6 onespot. But will definitely look into this should I change PsU. Thank you!

That’s good to know! I wish the Mini had been on sale when I bought mine…

for the uninitiated you may have to have a brief description of some of these pedals!

something like "I just replaced my Flacid Jawbone muff variant with this new Zookeepers Zany Zebra pedal, it's a Rat pedal with. an LFO made by Shinto monks in Japan who just happen to have a large stock of NOS LM308."  or something :)

Hopefully the last update for a while! I've realised (probably like most) that I buy pedals through pure GAS and not requirement (hence the Jam pedal stuff) and after spending more time looking fora new fuzz for a 2 minute song in our set I've decided to reinstate the ultrawave instead...

Wasn't thrilled with the fuzzed on tap on the HX One; while I love it's simplicity, the drives and fuzzed have a real digital flatness to me and really could use with some form of clean blend (much like the ms60B does).

My tap tempo has stopped working with the C4 for some reason so that needs be addressed, and I struggle with back row tap dancing so hoping moving the mvave to the back doesn't cause an issue!

Nice - the MVave moves up and down patches on the C4, and Ultrawave?

I'm just using the ultrawave for one patch so luckily didn't need to delve into that! The MVave is great though, it doesn't just go up and down either - it actually recalls patches numerically in banks of 4, so I can switch from. 1-4 etc etc all the way up. Best £30 I've ever spent!

They are brilliant, aren’t they?! For anyone wanting to do midi stuff it’s got to be worth a look, esp. for £30 and Prime returnable.

Posting some sound clips up later.

Hoping to get something smaller than the Sub Lime so I can get my wah back on there and some modulation.

Looper on left is to play a vocal sample for one of our outros so no input just straight into FoH.

Quick demo - straight into Logic from the board, no plug ins and quickly mixed with a demo (Guitar into Logic amps and Logic drummer)
