Updates.

The layout allows for reverb, delay and looper to go in the fx loop of an amp.

I occasionally put my puny little stratocaster through it. Sounds great for both. But it's better on bass, because bass is better. Obviously.

Most pleasing setting I’ve found during a quick mess about. Very background noise heavy as you dial up the fuzz. I’ve got a Duality fuzz on my board and a Basswitch Enhanced Overdrive which can really push the mids which I think suits what I need better but the live gig test will begin at 10pm

I've been trying for the last few months to design a small board that can cover all bases. I needed to go from a simple, lightly compressed bass sound to a pulsing Moog synth for 80s tracks and a highly compressed lightly overdriven sound through to fretless bass sounds for a new covers project for 2025.

It's finally finished with a little help from a few Black Friday deals. 🤠

Did you perchance buy the Crook off Reverb a few weeks ago? I sold mine to someone in Torqay last month!

What's the FTeletronica like? Seen a bunch of times and like the clear reference to the OG Meatball.

It's really great! It's a very authentic meatball clone by all accounts. They even ship it with the actual meatball manual.

I really enjoy messing with it. The range of sounds available is incredible.

Yes... It was me. What a fantastic pedal.

Well the QC is back off my desk and on the board again. I love having the pedals to play with but definitely missed having the scenes etc configured. Wanna get into the QC looper too 👌

I may at some point bump up to a RB4.1-4.2 to make more space for pedals but for now this is a perfect balance of having my favourites and still being pretty compact.

The Gojira clean amp is great for bass too 👌

Board update. Just got an Ampeg SGT as Christmas present from my wife(she might have seen me watching tons of Ampeg SGT demos in youtube lol).

Instant love on the B15 voice! Reason why I was GASsing on it. SGT switch is an always on for me. The preamp is surprisingly good! Took me few moments to dial the sound I’m after. Figured I’d be fine without the Cali76. The built in compressor is meh/okay but it works!

Stripped my board down to the essentials for town centre gig, thinking I could use the local metro service - only for the metro to be stopped due to issues with the gateshead flyover! 🤦‍♂️

Here's the results anyways - ultrawave, space heater and rattler mkII removed. Dynassor removed and in the FS section. All missed, but loving the more compact set up. I'll sit the mvave chocolate midi controller to the side of the board.

Old set up

Smaller set up

Eventually I'll get a new psu, tuner and preamp for the big board and move the important stuff (C4 and HX one) between the two. I have a Celebrity pedals taylor shift inbound too, so that may go on 1 board and the octabvre on the other...

It’s a fair question, it’s purely because I want the option to send Mic level, which the Stomp can’t do natively.

Si

Just  been mulling over this problem and it would be simple to use an in-line 15dB XLR attenuator to achieve the same.

Did any of the legends of fuzz impress you?

I assume some specific videos/reviews are coming on them?

yeh ive only really had the time to play 3 so far, the Supreme is very nice, and the crimson is a great pedal on bass! got a demo coming up with those two soon! the plug in is a cool one as well!

the berkeley is one i need to spend some time with but they are all nice and work well just depends what extra flavour you want, ie more top end Plugin, the octave fuzz vibe Supreme or just straight big muff the crimson

Yeah I commented on your instagram post about the Berkeley that was one of my favs. I should have kept it and had the volume pot modified.

I also had the Bender and Smiley. Smiley isn’t great on bass. Supreme and Crimson were high on the list but my last fuzz binge left me only wanting fuzz’s with a blend.

But I often think I need the Dirt Fixer and then I can enjoy them all.

I’ve been pretty satisfied with the Kasleder custom Freaky Stone just feeling like it would be unbeatable with a blend.

I want to say higher pot value or a resister or something. To me it’s amazing with the gain off but then to get unity the volume is near off so I’d want a bit more sweep across a smaller range. Something like that at least.

Nice I’m gonna hopefully get to play the Berkeley next week one eve before Xmas

Right, last rearrangement for 2024 (and hopefully a while now)

47pedalboard20241227.jpg.6ff3df45006050d46163c43283c9d9d6.jpg

Added: Spectracomp

Reinstated: Monomyth

Removed: Battalion, Bass Sweeper, a defective D'addario offset coupler which was making hum intermittently due to ground becoming detached if moved the wrong way.

Decided to stick a little compact board together, annoyingly can't find a single available fig8 power cable in the house to power it…

It looks like it'll sound awesome though 👌
