Board I’m running at the mo for festive function stuff - Empress into Capo with Tonex in post FX loop running an Aguilar DB751 and a cab of some description, also getting chorus and extra dirt channel from the Tonex and a clean boost from B side of the Capo. I usually have an octave pedal but it’s on the blink so I’d rather not take it to a gig till it’s sorted/I inevitably bin it and buy another one

Also battery charger + rechargeable batteries for IEM pack & wireless 😁 (which I stood on so currently not using) Really very impressed with the Tonex, not sure why I don’t see much Bass love for it but they’re as good as any capture I’ve ever used and much better than Stomp amp/cab sims, and there are tonnes of free user generated captures on Tone.net, also get the full suite and Amplitube to use on your computer/DAW - I’m not selling them or anything 😆 but as far as amp/cab sounds go they’re top of the tree IMO

I had one of the little tone x one pedals for a bit and quite enjoyed it, you're right though - much better than any amp sim ive tried in helix etc... just didn't like the software.

How do you find the Empress? Having sold every compressor I've tried i still fear I'm missing out on something and fancy another shot at it... 😬

Aye I love the Empress, best compressor I’ve had I think, the Lusithand Alma was also decent but the Empress can do an awful lot more and there’s options to add bits of saturation in with a mid scoop and mid bump switch that I think sounds fantastic in certain situations. It pricey but I like it a lot more than I do the Cali76

I’ve never used the little Tonex pedal but the quality of the amp and cab sounds For that money is really good value, however you really need the full fat one to take proper advantage of all the different ones available and Tonex Max with all the Amplitube captures like GK,

Ampeg etc which are outstanding. Some very good Noble and Noble + Cab captures available too

My first build so go lightly please 🤣

I've tried several pedal tuners but the TU300 is the one I keep coming back to. And the BDI21 is my always-in-the-bag back up for gigs where I'm going through FOH.

Well…

it’s nowt fancy as I absolutely do not believe in pedals 😂

But, needs must - a sonicake reverb for the track I play baritone on, and a chordy moment.

Just added the Marshall Regenerator as it covers Chorus/Flanger/Phaser for 2 songs.

If I was a richer man, I would’ve bought a more boutique set of pedals - but to be fair, the Nether is exactly right for that OC2 type noise, the ODB3 is used as a subtle drive for a couple of tunes - the Iron Man (by @LukeFRC) is brilliant - gets used for 3 songs…

Synth type sounds are now available if I need them by combining drive/mod/oct…

Works for me.

The pedal PSU and Board were bought with an Amazon Voucher…all in all, not a big outlay.

Here's my pedal board for the acoustic band. Basically bits that I collected over the years for various other bands, which ended up in the cupboard under the bookcase (the pedals, not the bands).

It mostly serves the various uke basses I use, keeping the levels even across the strings (especially the poly strings), and am currently making g the necessary adjustments for the Martin short scale acoustic that arrived a couple of days ago. As this doesn't have its own onboard tuner, then the one on the board comes in handy! I actually use the pedal for the ukes as well, even though they have their own onboard, as it also acts as a mute pedal and seems to be more accurate than the on boards in a couple of cases!🤔

Further to my last post, this is my main gigging pedal board with the punk band.

The recent(ish) addition of the YYZ pedal has made every bass I use sound like a slightly overdriven Ricky - the perfect sound for the band and music.  Ironically, I have a Rickenbacker 4003, but can't get as good a sound out of it as any of my precisions going through the same setup! Go figure.......🤔😬

Builing a new 2025 board. New patch cables (EBS solder free) have arrived, and the new board and pedal are in the post so I thought I'd plan it all out. Big space to be filled by...guess what?

Current state.

DIY board.

Cioks DC7 underneath.

New Empress Bass Compressor today. It is so much better than my Orange Kongpressor with an active bass.

I've had the Swollen pickle for a long time but I don't really like it. I might put the DOD Carcosa back on.

I also have a zvex Woolly Mammoth clone, but it's a weird size so it doesn't fit.

The Splinter is cool, but maybe a bit to fuzzy. Will probably swap back for the Joyo Double Thruster (Darkglass BK3 copy?)

I'm buying a Kink Audio Dozer fuzz from a member, so.....who knows?!

I'm contemplating buying a commercially made board, but might just make a new one with room for 2 more pedals.

Have always made my own boards/cases - so much more satisfying and can get them exactly how I want them. I've found that the self adhesive velcro that Screwfix sells to be the best for fixing pedals down as well......👍

I'm reasonably handy with building stuff , so yes I'm more likely to build one. This board is at least 7 years old. Built like a tank.

Never had an issue getting pedals to stick! The Splinter pedal has an awful rubber back that hates adhesive though. That will need cable ties *if it stays*.  I'm constantly changing stuff; the tuner, chorus and Digbeth DB-pre are the only constants (until the Empress arrived!).

This is the stuff! I've used tiewraps as well previously when 'domestic' sticky velcro failed, but this stuff is the business. About a tenner for a metre roll of two part self adhesive.....👍

I have this. It is actually amazing!  I had some knock off stuff from Dunelm when I misplaced it temporarily...it was bad 😅
