ok so I love the Helio but realised it’s pretty close to the black emperor mini so switched the positions a bit, the lurid is now in the second dirt fixer and the Zoar is a place holder atm

Phase 1 completed - Sansamp BDDI replaced with Bassrig 64 - I do like that Bassrig.

Step01.thumb.jpg.5794c9e74d57c3b5a6910fe271b4ffbd.jpg

Next Phase will be to:

1. remove the Sweeper and Sub Up and fit an HX Stomp

2. change the Yler battery for a Harley Benton Powerplant with has enough oomph to drive the Stomp.

Nice looking board. Would be interested to hear how you get on with the HB power plant - looks like a good buy for those of us who are careful with our gear and don't just throw in the back of a van six nights a week.....😉👍

Is the HB powerplant the battery one? I will be interested to hear whether there is any noise generated by the Stomp and fed around the power supply leads.

My latest big board for my fusion band (i break it down to a smaller one for the rock band)

Bright onion input/output box

Sadowsky BP2 preamp/DI - for use with my passive basses, adds a nice bit of depth and clarity when set right, it doesnt change the character of the bass. Small tuner plugged into tuner out.

Origin effects - Cali76 compact bass, the 1st version, i like the pop and sheen that it adds, its a subtle compressor, but tames the slaps and enhances my tone (especially since i moved to Markbass)

Into a Boss LS2 - the most useful pedal in the world, it gives me so many options

Channel A

MXR Bass Octave Deluxe - its small and sounds great, and tracks really well, its set with more Girth for a deeper "octabass" style tone, with clean added its my standard octave tone.

Zvez Mastatron - Gated fuzz that works great with all basses, used for synth tones, with a high gate, and least amount of subs, as usually used with an octave.

EBS Bass IQ - envelope filter, v2 ive  just got another (theyve shot up in price) as ive tried most and this is my favourite. Very usable Down sweep for Moog sounds, and triggers really well, High Q Is great for funky mutronish tones or part of a synth. Ive set a good amount of clean high end in via the trimpot, adds to note definition.

MXR Phase 99 - The classic phase 90 x2 in one box, the two phasers can be used in series or parallel, and set with contrasting speeds, it can get very wild and funky, or set in synch which is very thick and adds gain to the signal, it has the "script" switch, for vintage/modern phase tones, orange sparkle too!!

Channel B

Boss OC2 - set without the clean signal for the "Jo jo Mayer" sound, i hadnt had one in years, i now remember why every bassist should have one. I add this classic sound in parallel via the LS2 to the Mastatron and Bass IQ as well as the phaser.

Frederic effects Bugcrusher - Based on the Bugbrandits an analog sample rate reducer, very funky and percussive sounding pedal, you can almost get clavinet style tones, as well as ring mod like madness, it has a blend to keep some sanity. Ive tried many of these type of effects, and this is a very musical pedal. I use is with the OC2 for the "Baby elephant" tone as well as in parallel with the MXR Octave.

Think I'm finished for now. Spent a bit of time on my gospel board today.

Boss TU-3>Cry Baby 105Q Mini Wah>Boss NS-2>LOOP SEND>Boss OD-200>Zoom MS-60b>Caline SP-24>LOOP RETURN>Sonicake Levitate.

Large Rockhouse flat board, EBS Solder-free patch cables, Joyo JP-02 power supply.

All going into a Sadowsky SBP-1 and GSS Baby Sumo, and 2 x Trace Elliot 110 cabs.

When I get paid I might upgrade the power supply but it's quiet, nothing sucks tone, it's neat and I've got plenty of options.

Just added the Bass Rig and had to sacrifice the Darkglass Duality.  The Bass Rig is my favourite pedal ever, perfect always on pedal.

I'm in the same boat with the caveat that if its a choice between horizontal vs big empty void, the jaunty angle wins.

I'll usually try to spread stuff out a bit though.

Depends - if there’s a good reason for them being sideways it’s no problem in my book. In teebs case it’s so he can get the xlr in easily so that makes sense

Same on mine for the post above. Everything could fit the correct way but I’d rather space the pedals out for the main button access. The AG will be pretty much set and forget at soundcheck and the D.I. cable will be out of my way.

Quick question, is it to ok to use a line isolator for a passive bass? Looking for a nice DI or LI to pair with my Fliptop. Building a microboard that’s just 2 pedals with a pedal booster. Looking for recommendations before buying. I’m keen to try a pinstripe miso or a canvas mono to pair with my Broughton.

Is this the latest ghostfire pedalboard? I usually see them in Temu or Ali Express. Looks like a nice build with clearance underneath for psu. Lovely board!

Thanks man! It’s their ultra lite series which is basically a Mono Lite+ clone. Had my eye on it for a while and their direct website prices are great right now, especially for the power supply/pedalboard bundle. Love Mono but spent enough already on the pedals haha

Need to test out the power supply properly but it seems to be under the radar for everyone so far. One output on the FH5 can output 1500ma at 9V so, can power the Fractal or an HX Stomp with ease and no doubler cables 🤘🏼

I'm of the "oh no it doesn't fit... time to buy a bigger pedal board" camp!

Thus said it is irritating how the industry can't agree whether jack sockets should be on the top or the sides, while preamp/DI pedal makers really need to catch on quicker that you always need the xlr out on the left side of the box!

I had a small board for ages and squeezed in a big box Cali76 and a basswitch so didn’t have much room for anything else. It was a great lesson in restraint and ergonomics.

My current board is bigger but so long as things are placed ergonomically and my FOH signal path (no switching required) and the pedals I need to get quick access to all fit in I’m less worried about the look. Function over form.

Something like This underneath? Not transformer di but sound  good. More a sound techs solution than the forum hype of pinstripe or walrus!

Yeah inconsistency bugs me a lot. Top mounted is a huge win for me although having pedals that close can require some accurate foot work.

The Canvas tuner is the worst offender yet for me.

✔️Top mounted jacks

Side power jack

Opposite side for the USB and menu buttons

It does look pretty though…
