Top mounted is a huge win for me although having pedals that close can require some accurate foot work. The Canvas tuner is the worst offender yet for me. ✔️Top mounted jacks ❌ Side power jack ❌ Opposite side for the USB and menu buttons I vaguely recall someone made some pedals with jacks on the top AND the sides which I thought was a brilliant idea and was hoping would catch on - but it didn't. I also can't remember who it was who made them. 1 Quote
Chadu25 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 (edited) Sharing my cute little project board. Can’t wait to finish work and test this! *UPDATE: Initial impressions. The comp is really good! It’s like Empress and a Diamond comp’s offspring minus the metering. I’m happy with the seperate attack and release knobs so I won’t miss my Cali76. I’m liking the Fliptop more than the B15 voice in my SGT! The more I add in cab emulation, the low end gets more tighter and cuts the high frequencies for a warm, vintage sound unlike the SGT, a tad muffled and not as clear as the Fliptop. Also, edge of breakup sounds natural and rich just the way I like it which is important for me. Can’t believe I only found out about Broughton’s stuff now. Amazing stuff! Now I’m GASsing on a Studio One to place it at the end of my chain. That or a messenger Jr. Edited January 14 by Chadu25 7 Quote

Noisyjon Posted January 14 Posted January 14 My latest board. I was running just the Microtubes Infinity and the tuner for ages but treated myself to the LHz Hazard Lamps preamp pedal for some of that lovely Spector Haz Lab oomph in the chain! 10 Quote

In teebs case it’s so he can get the xlr in easily so that makes sense There is never a good reason for @Teebs. If he swapped the blue monstrosity on the left hand edge with the MXR then all the pedals would be the same orientation AND the XLR socket would be accessible. Just saying....... Quote

Ed_S Posted Saturday at 15:45 Posted Saturday at 15:45 As much as the big boards on here are great fun to look at, I don't really need 'proper' effects and the only pedal I want to be operating mid-gig is a tuner. My main board (top one) has been doing very well for the last couple of years, so I just put the bottom one together this morning out of some languishing bits. It's intended to be a backup/spare/alternative, and is just another variation on the theme I know works for me, but has a bit more drive available. I'll have to wait a couple of weeks until I can get it all dialled-in at a rehearsal, but it should be very similar to the main one, and I think I can safely get rid of the few other remaining pedals that are still lying around now. 4 Quote

I’ve got loads of pedals and boards, but am finding myself definitely going down the route of what I’d say you have, a ‘tone board’. Not really switching effects during a gig, just a great catch all tone for giving a great sound. I’m making one for fretted and fretless, then having a home board that can cater for both. Well that’s the plan anyhow! Obviously for some gigs/styles of music you need all the bells and whistles, but I don’t really play any of that stuff lol! Edited Saturday at 16:27 by jimbobothy Quote

The last few gigs in decent size venues, I've found that the sound tech has asked me to play, got the level, given it the "that's alright, actually" face and moved on to the next victim. Other bassists on the same multi-band nights have been stood there plonking away for a while to get something useable, so I think I'm about where I want to be. 2 Quote
ordep Posted Sunday at 18:05 Posted Sunday at 18:05 clockwise from top: Main gigging board, portable battery powered board for short sets and when the main is too big, Pbass home board to play with IR’s. 5 Quote

Linus27 Posted Sunday at 23:11 Posted Sunday at 23:11 This is my current board. Quite simple by all accounts. Zoom for tuner and chorus, Boss OC-5 Octave, MXR Envelope Filter, Mooer Reverb, Ampeg Optical Compressor and EBS Microbass II. All used with fretless and EUB. Wish I could lose the power bank but despite being super thin already, it wont fit under the board. 4 Quote

Kirky Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) My very simple board. Powered via a Cioks 4 and an Anker power bank (although the EBS is powered using phantom power when we gig). Edited 13 hours ago by Kirky 2 Quote

The existing ones are riveted in which makes it awkward to remove and I just need to find some taller rubber feet somewhere. Quote
