Dudgeman Posted April 15 Posted April 15 (edited) This is the board at my feet at the mo... Covers all the classic rock/metal we play..and there isn't a pedal on there I don't use during our set, which is nuts... I made the Schmidt Array style 2 tier board a few years ago and it has been fantastic. Ignore all the spaghetti on the left...nothing to do with the board!! Edited April 15 by Dudgeman 5 Quote

MrDinsdale Posted Thursday at 21:19 Posted Thursday at 21:19 Recorded a little run through with the new 0xEAE Bass Driver along with some other favourites. There's no structure, just me faffing around. Really digging the Accountant, 0xEAE Bass Driver and Opus which are all new additions. 4 Quote

I was thinking this sounded amazing and that I might by it from Joe's Pedals but by the time I went back to it after watching videos it had gone! Its an impractical size anyway 😪 1 Quote

Salt on your Bass? Posted Friday at 16:04 Posted Friday at 16:04 'finished' my new home/mini board. Covers loads of ground and intention is to drive either my own power amp or use when I need to travel light. It's a rock board 2.1 and powered by gigrig. I may change the muff for an mbd 3 still in time, depending on how my feet fit the gaps on the board. See how it goes anyway.... 8 Quote

See I’ve got to the place where my h9 is on the chopping black - then see someone on here using it and get tempted to hold keep using it! 2 Quote

I’ve replaced it with a GK Plex which is mint (as long as you like the GK sound - otherwise it’s probably not! 😁) The amp sounds are absolutely top notch and the contour/presence/bass bump n the EQ all sound great, but it’s the preamp sound that really impresses me, it sounds phenomenal. I don’t like the drive or compressor on it and I assume that’s why this pedal hasn’t really taken off like it probably could have, but I don’t really need those, but it sounds massive. Now you've lived with it for a while @Paddy777 how are you finding it? I always loved the sound of a GK 800 RB and the Plex is just about the only preamp pedal that interests me at the minute. I'm not going to splash out on a new one but I might keep my eyes open for a used one if they are as good as you describe (considering the number of preamp pedals you've had LOL ). Yeah it's a weird one....I have similar flashes from time to time. That said, for the footprint and amount of effects, including massive reverbs, there's not much else that compares imo. I was looking at changing it with a meris LVX but decided form factor was more important at this point. Just trying to sort out a limited number of effects in preset bank now to limit to 5 or so that I use. Quote

That’s what I do too! It’s great, but I re bought a hx stomp - and while the h9 sounds nicer and fits together nicely with midi it seems overkill! 1 Quote

Honestly John I think it’s really good - obviously I’m a fan of the GK sound, although it’s not the ‘be all & end all’ of bass tone for me or anything like that, I just really liked the GK amp presets on modellers like the Stomp/Tonex etc because it’s super easy to work with and get a really nice tone without much messing about at all. If you want to borrow it for a couple of days during the week mate just pop down to Chester le St and your welcome to take it away and have a tinker with it mate, just get it me back by Friday dinnertime so I can put my board together for the weekends gigs 😁 It’s miles better than any of the digital models I’ve heard, but having never owned a GK amp I can’t say how close it is to the actual amp, but best thing you can do is borrow it and see what you think - I really rate it but YMMV and all that, I can’t see you disliking it if you like the GK sound. Cheers for the offer Paddy, I might take you up on the offer sometime but we all know it has to be heard with the band and I have no rehearsals for a while (I still rehearse way more than you do though ). Saying that if I see one pop up for sale used I might need to make a quick decision so I could blast down and give it a whirl. Speak soon. Quote

I like the h9 app in rehearsals to adjust on the fly, and the tuner seems pretty good so far. Quote

If you actually rehearse at all then this is definitely true 😁 Im wanting to try a Genzler Magellan and if I do get hold of one and like it then you could borrow it for a few weeks with a view to buying it or whatever. Like I say the GK is a really great sound but I want the functionality of the Magellan as it has two switchable contours and onboard HPF which currently takes up board space and a power supply slot in a separate pedal. Anyway, in summary - if you like the GK sound then the GK Plex is tremendous 1 Quote

Yeah, a lovely set of pedals and a nice neat build Chadu. I’m definitely feeling smaller builds for bass at the mo as all I need is a nice fat tone 🎵👍🏻 1 Quote

Been using the pedal riser board for quick gigs but thought of bringing back the old nano I kept in the closet. 2 hours ago, Salt on your Bass? said: Love this 💜✌️ Thanks!! 1 Quote
