charic
If you are looking for 'rock' clothes...and your budget will stretch then I recommend Wornstar in the US. You can get their kit in the UK, but none of the one-off gear they do, and its bloody expensive too. I've had a denim jacket modified by Tina (Custom Creations by Tina)...see the link below...she is ace. She aged it, fitted the patches I sourced, replaced panels with leather and camo material...proper rock idiot stuff! https://www.facebook...ons%20by%20tina There are loads of places online that will do custom stagewear. It all depends on budget and timeframe.
Thanks for the FB link, i'll definitely check that out!
dudewheresmybass
Mainly eBay these days. Although I'm always on the lookout. Rock festivals can be a good source
casapete
http://stagewearunlimited.com/ Over the years I've had a fair bit of stuff from here. Great if you want something making to order, and not overly expensive either.
yorks5stringer
There's a little know guy called Nudie Cohen: don't suppose anyone will wear his creations?
NancyJohnson
If you're from the rock/metal/punk/emo area and confident to buy online, there's a place called EMP (http://www.emp-online.co.uk). They sell on Amazon as well. As a punky band (well, the musicians therein, forget the singer), we tend to favour black, which is easy. All I really want to find is a well cut leather or denim/cotton jacket that has a little shizzle about it, but sadly most of this stuff is cut for males with the pysique of a 15 year old boy. 38" chest anyone? No one seems to cater for the people with a heavyweight boxer frame.
police squad
In the 80s and 90s there was this great shop in Canterbury high st, called ' Trash'. They had it all. Spandex, leather jeans, cowboy boots, rubber dresses, boots with spikes, dresses with spikes, spikes with spikes. It really was amazing if you wanted rock n roll stage gear. I bought a fantastic purple, silk(ish) shirt. Handwash only. It faded and looked fab. Girls always tried to buy from me at gigs. Now it's H&M and Allsaints for me (well ebay for Allsaints, have you seen the price of that stuff new, utter madness) This was 26 years ago Edited July 28, 2016 by police squad
Paul S
I'm proud to be Man at Mencap. Can usually find what I am looking for at a charity shop - I've had decent Levi's jeans, a quality waistcoat, most of my shirts, some cowboy boots - all sorts. ivansc
My latest stage shirt came from here: https://www.voidclothing.net/ Also had some shocking jeans from the likes of Run & Fly brand via Amazon. Shocking as in really shouldnt be worn by someone my build & age
Cue Johnny Depp and the Deps.

chris_b
When I was trying to be a rock star I bought my canary yellow suit from Kings Road, Chelsea, but these days it's all black from M&S and Primark. Ho hum!
Bassassin
You're not wearing road leathers underneath that - you should!
My character prefers military fatigues under a combination of BoS & legendary Synth armour. None of your trashy Raider rubbish for the formidable Diarrhetica Buttocks! Number6
Turkish trousers are important to have in the wardrobe too.....oh and a kaftan
drTStingray
Weren't Turkish trousers the signature wear for the video of Bobby Brown in 'You Can't Touch This' complete with Rick James' bass part from an earlier tune? Anyway..... when I played in a Cliff and the Shadows tribute band I was pleased to note I was required to contribute to a set of suits etc that came from the bargain line at Asda George - I think I was docked £35 from my first gig money of about £150...... This is what happens in a group with thrifty almost 70 yr old baby boomers......... who possibly voted Brexit and now have to pay at least 15% more for their US instruments 😉
drTStingray
Oasis market, Birmingham.
I'll admit to buying canary yellow loon pants with 19 in flares (that's about 485 mm in modern money) back in the 70s from there ........ one of my mates bought an afghan coat also - is it really still there! scalpy
Not too tricky for me, Joe Browns sales cover most stuff, but my wife is also in the function band. 5 foot 1 and it would appear impossible to find an outfit with a cut she's happy with. Lord Sausage
I've always wanted to get some David Lee Roth type clothes but have no idea where to get some. My stage clothes in my profile pic are pretty good tho!

Cat Burrito
Online and specialist shops. I pretty much wear my stage gear all the time. At 22 I looked like a rock 'n' roll star. At 43 I look like a mid life crisis.
seashell
I loved that place when it was red, yellow and black. Back in the late 80s/early 90s, each month, I used to pop over to Brum (from Cov) and spend a small fortune in Oasis, Swordfish, Tempest, the record shop that was in a subway near the city hall and the one towards Aston Uni...
Ah yes, that record shop was brilliant. Was it called Plastic Fantastic? Something like that anyway. It was there when I first started working at Aston Uni (2003), but alas closed shortly thereafter. :-(

Not the actual outdoor market anymore, but Oasis with all the little outlets inside is still there for all your goth/punk/hippie needs. :-)
