Stools

No not poo, the one's you sit on. I'm looking for a new adjustable fold away stool to sit on at gigs. I have an old kitchen stool at the mo but need something foldawayable, any suggestions?

Ikea do a high kitchen stool- (well really a bar stool with a back on etc) -black tubular steel frame,wooden seat&back,foot rest bar.
It folds flat too. Around £25 when I got mine a couple of years ago. Used on all my acoustic duo gigs, and just the right height, for me anyway!

I have an Ikea one, it gets a bit uncomfortable after a bit, it hasn't got any padding though.

I've also got a drum stool which is great, and pretty cheap too, it came from Thomman.

Loads of music shops do folding keyboard or drum stools.

Reminds me of the old carry on film (Doctor I think) "I though I had wind and I was wrong".

I've seen the fold away ones in IKEA, I'd prefer a padded one so my arse doesn't go to sleep. It needs to be fairly tall so I sort of perch on it.

The posh one looks nice but I don't like the price, the stagg ones are on ebay at about the same price.

You might want to try camping shops..they do 3 legged foldaway stools...very light too. But alas no padding,comfortable though...I use one when I am camping out at festivals to play my guitar with.

Drummer uses one of those to put his sticks on. He was oddly excited about it; 'Check out my new fishing stool, great isn't it?'.

Tell me about it! i just ordered a double bass stand for £29, the contrasnobass shop had a stand which appears to be identical for £119!!!!!

I am borrowing a tall stool out of the bar at the rehearsal room, anything too short like a drum stool just seems to make me hunch over my bass. Anyway been to the quack this morning and been signed off for another week.

This is what I use at home and would use at a gig when needsbe.

Note cut away front for big bollocked drummers and bass players or in built airflow system for small bollocked drummers and bass players......ahem

I use one which a fellow bassist gave me - he'd bought a pair from Aldi and just wanted one for his Phil Jones briefcase. I originally used one which cost a tenner or so from Ikea, which was fine but not folding.
