I know!!

The interesting thing about this bass is I don't think it's a Teisco or a Guyatone or even Japanese at all.

There's something about it to me that says American... faint shades of Premier, Microfrets, Harmony (but not any of those). And I think it's early - '50s not '60s.

All a guess, though. I'm going to keep looking.

Agree with this - it's not MIJ.

I don't know a whole lot about early American instruments, but this could just as easily be 60s Italian or Cold War-era Eastern European.

That maple fretboard's curious. You don't see that on many early basses.

Jon.

Please do but I THINK I found out for myself :)

I reckon it's from the Multivox/Premier/Strad-O-Lin family... okay, if pushed I'll say Premier, though the brands were a bit interchangeable...

From New York, about 1962...

Pretty cool to have the word from the guy himself... what does Eddie say?

We both agreed the fact a fella in London can post a question and a fella in Scotland can pass it on to the man with the answer in the US
all via the internet makes the world a wee place.
