Up for sale is my fully restored Acoustic Control 406. The restoration thread is in 'Build Diaries' but a rough summary it's a 1976 cab stripped, repainted baffles, re tolexed re grilled and 2 EV 15s installed so it's 600 watt 4 ohm and immaculate. Not only that but it has a purpose built flight case to keep it pristine.
It has an enormous sound and amazing clarity from the EVs. Super detailed sound and completely full range and very loud and efficient.

Price would be £450 including the case and I'm a only selling as I'm in the process of starting a 4x15 version of the same cab series otherwise this would be a lifer.

Fabulous!

Goes completely against the grain in terms of modern lightweight cabs, but IMO it looks as cool as you can get, and I bet those two Ev 15" drivers sound amazing..

is this an early one [24" wide and recessed handles] or the later 26 " wide with handles that are proud of the cab?

I had a try-out of this cab last night, and it sounded utterly awesome - even with my Markbass LM2. I can only imagine what it would be like with a big valve amp....

A bit heavy and bulky for me these days, but if you are a young person (or have roadies) - go for it as it is very well priced and sounds the business B)

I had one of these 406s (along with a 220 Head) for many years. Sold it very reluctantly (stupidly). Superb sounding bass cabs, best 2x15 I ever owned by a long way. Granted they're large compared to contemporary lightweight gear and a bit heavy to lift but the tilt back trolley wheels made it mangeable enough. That deep rich full sound will not come out of a tiny box. 70's Acoustic Contol Corp Gear looks so classic too. Love it. Tempted if I didn't have too many rigs already. GLWS.
