gary mac Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 "People will talk about it for a long time" Of course they will, with the pick ups being that far away from the strings, they'll be saying they couldn't hear the bass. Quote
JapanAxe Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 They missed a trick by not fitting black frets and marker dots Quote
Grangur Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 It was clearly SO amazingly great that he could never be arsed to get it out of the case. I bet it won't meet the reserve. Quote

paul_c2 Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 I don't understand why someone would order a custom instrument then play it for 2 hours, then sell it? Putting to one side the daftness of the customisations, surely they're personal to the one who ordered it thus you'd order what you want - then use it - and the value/worth would be much less for anyone else. What a clown for building that, not hard to guess why he's selling it....? Quote
Rich Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 "I probably have about 2 hours worth of playing on it and it has been living in a case" ...because I very quickly realised that it didn't bloody work. What a div. Quote
Bassmonkey Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I know it's a stupid idea but I quite like the "stealth" look on a guitar. The comments on this tired made me laugh though. What a div ha ha Quote
dannybuoy Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I would buy this if the price was right, always fancied building a stealth bass. I would of course have to fix the pickup hole and height out! Quote
PlungerModerno Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 (edited) I think they already do this - pretty sure it's called a piezo or lightwave system! Or just go with the ramp look: Borrowed from this thread. You could of course get the pickups closer to the strings by lowering the bridge and neck or raising the front of the body. could be done fairly cheaply - as long as you weren't after "Exhibition Grade" figured wood for the cap or having a custom low profile bridge engineered up! tauzero Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Not exactly, it received some bids but didn't get to reserve. Not surprising when you see the BIN price. For some reason, people seem even less enthusiastic about bidding for it now it's been relisted. If you really want a stealth bass like this, get a Variax (you may have to paint it black and put sticky-back plastic on the pickguard though). Quote
