bubinga5 Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 (edited) For me the perfect JazzFunk record. It is so bad ass. Amazing flute and sax player. This track is so very funky. Great horn section, great understated bass playing. Tips on the best side of early jazz funk for me. Great guitar solo.Great drumming. http://youtu.be/wrsr5WKstos Edited August 11, 2016 by bubinga5 Quote
uncle psychosis Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Flute is my first instrument and Hubert Laws was always one of my heroes. This is probably my favourite track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQTrGkA5FXA Nice workout for the rhythm section, Moment's Notice is an absolutely killer chord sequence. Quote
lowdown Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 (edited) Yes, lovely player and appreciated in the classical circles as well. Not really known for his Sax playing though. Brother, Ronnie Laws is known for that Instrument. (Sorry for getting away from the Jazz Funk Vibe). Love his version of 'Feel Like Makin' Love'. Full of emotion. http://youtu.be/Z8-AWlZSA50 'Sophisticated Lady' as a duo, lovely. http://youtu.be/XFb34HF4xpw Edited August 12, 2016 by lowdown Quote
