Not really a build diary i guess but what the hey.

I have just ordered new black hardware for my corvette standard 6 as i think the chrome looks cheap and tacky and the black will look more classy.

i have ordered new:
bridge 2 piece
6 machine heads
new black knobs
and new strap lock ends.

total including shipping 130 euro i will update when i get the parts.

here is a pic of the bass in its current state.

ALL black hardware looks great I love it.....

What I dont like is makers that mix bits of chrome and black or mix any colors for that matter (even my PRSs suffer that from new... :) )

IMHO I cant wait to see your 'vette pimped....

I must say I did have a chuckle to myself when I saw the title, for a second I was expecting a 1967 drophead chrome bumper Corvette stingray....
I think it depends on the bass maybe. For this bass with dark wood i def think black is the way to go.

Interested to see what others think.
Really light woods, brass or gold or something like that. i want to get some new hardware for my fender, but I can't decide what colour for the parts. I'm thinking about a new bridge, tuners, nut, knobs and a pickguard. Any help?

Thanks for the positve comments i too am looking forward to this. I will keep this updated and do like a photo diary thing like has been done in the past.

ive always been a big fan of black hardware but i realised the other day not one of my 8 basses or 2 guitars have it.

I've got to say that 130 euro for a complete overhaul of your hardware is pretty damn reasonable, especially as the tuners etc are pretty high quality units and you are talking a 6 string! Resell the bits you take off and it'll not have cost a lot to give you the look you want. Oh and I agree the black will look classy on the dark wood. :)

yeah i think its great value tbh as its a two piece bridge and everything. When you think about how much a badass bridge costs £50 for a 4 string one and this 2 piece bridge only costs 62 euro for a 6 string thats pretty dam good.

The warwick tuners are good i agree i think they ended up being just over 40 euro for 6. I think they are just as good as my groover tuners on my fretless and they would have been more expensive.

I will either sell on the hardware or keep it for a project anyone interested in it?

ok hardware is here. Pretty quick i thought.

everything is present and accounted for +1 to warwick shop. Although i did end up with 2 stack knobs unstead of one.

im in the middle of removing the old hardare and have had two small tech problems.

1. the knob for the pickup selector is stuck on with the force of hell so im not sure what to do yet to loosen that screw.

2. Oh dear my earth seems to have come loose it is not connected to anything in the control cavity can somone with a warwick 2 band eq help me out here of where its supposed to be. Thanks.
