Hobbayne
Poor old Gerry only scores 10% on the bass mime-ometer. Didnt Mo Foster play on this track? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgQWjQZydY0&feature=share
Mickeyboro
Never mind that... Watching the sax player makes me seasick!
Trueno
During my sax-playing career I seriously thought about getting a "no I don't play ****ing Baker Street" T shirt printed up.
Hobbayne
I read somewhere that the sax player on this hated hearing this song because he thought it was badly played and out of tune. This could probably be the sax version of Moondance.

lowlandtrees
Love this song. Never been asked to play this as a sax player.....think that musicians run from it. It is keyboard heavy
JapanAxe
The bass part isn't hard but the lead guitar solo is a pig.
BottomE
Love this Rafferty tune. He ended up living round the corner from me and saw him about a lot. Not a fan of Baker Street really - probably due to overkill but it helped find this which is a great tune. zbd1960
The sax playing is also some well-dodgy miming as he seems to have acquired the skill of notes coming out whilst his mouth is open and breathing in... Since I play sax, I probably ought to have a look at it some time... Problem with well-known pieces, is the audience expects to hear them in a particular way, which is not feasible live without all the production stuff in the recording studio. lowdown
Shouldn't the Sax player be miming on an Alto ? Sounds like there is a Soprano part as well in the intro on this version - Where is he? I suppose you just couldn't get the mimers back in the 70's. There must have been a mimers strike. It looks like the music track is out of sync with the video track. Catchy tune for sure. Edited August 20, 2016 by lowdown
