highwayman Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 I bought my Stingray Classic (new version) second hand and the accompanying flight case has a lock but not the keys. The case is black molded with MUSICMAN embossed in large on the top and has a badge on the side saying 'Stingray Stingray 5' - I'd imagine it's the standard model. Are the keys universal for them & where can I get some from please (I'd like three, two minimum). Cheers Quote
bigjimmyc Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Great thread! I have the exact same problem (albeit a 4-string). Who knows the answer? Cheers Jim Quote
Ed_S Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Not sure whether they're keyed alike or to differ as I only have one MM case, but these are what mine look like just in case it helps you to ascertain whether they are in fact all the same and, if so, narrow down the search for some second hand originals: [attachment=225947:musicmanCaseKeys.jpg] Maybe talk to the UK distributor as they are, essentially, just spare parts? highwayman Posted August 24, 2016 Author Posted August 24, 2016 Special mention for MB1: he very kindly sent me some keys for my Stingray case. A gentleman & great BC ambassador. Quote
bigjimmyc Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Great result.... I still need some though! Did you establish if these are generic or not? Thanks Quote
highwayman Posted August 24, 2016 Author Posted August 24, 2016 Yes, they worked in mine. Maybe try one of the specialist bass-only retailers? Quote
