Damonjames Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Hey, my old bass!! This is a belting example, I love the spalted maple top on this one, looks like it been burned with cigarettes :-) Sounds and plays really nicely- was my go to bass until My band circumstances changed, and miss it often. It had a trim pot tone pump when I had it, but I'm sure the Bart does it justice!! Dave is a top bloke to deal with too. I actually bought it from him to start and then sold it back to him!! Good luck Dave!
Bassulike66 Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Now then, hang on a minute!.. i don't normally do natural or exotic finish basses but this is soooo tempting!!
Damonjames Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 The photos don't really do it justice. It's unlike any other exotic top I've seen... It looks like it's water damaged and had years worth of cigs put out on it, but it's just the natural grain!!!! It was a tough choice to let it go, I just love that finish!! Again, couple that with the playability of a Spector and that classic NS body shape, how can you say no??? If anyone is concerned with them being overly growly, when I bought it, it had an EMG preamp, and I found it quite tame but very versatile. I imagine the Bart to be similar in this regard. Having said that I didn't find the trim pot tone pump overly aggressive with the trim pot dialled back a bit. Either way it's a cracker!!! Starting to have remorse now!!!
