I'm looking for the warmest roundwounds available, any ideas? Tried dr sunbeams and lorider nickel
My main bass is a p with flats and I need to have a 2nd bass with rounds for some gigs that need punchy articulation but still want a really old school sound , valve amp foam mute etc

I used Rotosound Nickel Rounds for a good while when needing a similar tone. They don`t die anywhere near as quick as their steel cousins.

Consider Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats.

They are flats, but they sound just like rounds that had been on the bass for a while.

Sunbeams are as close you're going to get for a roundwound... unless they've been played in for a year or so!

Fender 7150s are pure nickel strings which are the next natural step after Sunbeams.

You could also try D'Addario Chromes - when brand new they sound very roundwound like but still have that flat character.
