interpol52 Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 (edited) I am 41. When I was 16 I used to love this, I had it on VHS and cassette. They were a strange band in retrospect, after King For a Day I tuned out but I still enjoyed watching this tonight. I loved Mr Bungle too! Pinball Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 (edited) I would say...yep I would say so...and I still like space rock. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yao_T2adl14 Edited August 26, 2016 by icastle Quote
chris_b Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 At 16 my favourite band was John Mayall and the Blues Breakers, with Eric Clapton. Quote
Kiwi Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Level 42 - sorry but I'd just started formal bass lessons and they, along with Stanley and Jaco, were my brave new world of bass. Quote

NancyJohnson Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 It was Kiss. Don't know whether that makes me feel proud or a little embarrassed. Quote
Heathy Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 When I was 16, Iron Maiden were my world. I don't recall there being any other bands around at that time! Quote
Lord Sausage Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 It was Guns 'n' Roses. In the last couple of weeks I've started listening to em again....and I f***in love it! Quote
Cato Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 At sixteen I was just coming out of my metal phase (fave bands were Maiden, Anthrax and Megadeth) and entering my indie phase (Dinosaur Jr, Pixies & Wedding Present). Although pretty much from 13 onwards when asked I've always given my favourite band as The Ramones. Quote
CamdenRob Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Emperor... ... of Norwegian black metal fame Quote
EliasMooseblaster Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 I'm fairly sure that by that age it was The Who. Little has changed since. Quote
Cyrene Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 At 16, in 1987, I was obsessed with Roxy Music's early stuff. Everything from their debut to Siren. Quote
4stringslow Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Ah, 16. Tubular Bells was probably the big thing for me back then, but I'd also just discovered Caravan, Barclay James Harvest, Capability Brown and Wishbone Ash. Was also buying a fair bit of reggae vinyl back then, mostly on the wonderful Trojan label, which was something of a fashion anomaly as I had very long hair at the time when reggae was popularly associated with skinheads. Oh those confusing teenage years Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Isotope. I used to play the faster tracks to psyche myself up for taking my gcse ( o-levels, as was) exams. Quote

Musicman20 Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 NOFX. I still go to their gigs now and keep up to date with their releases. Quote
