KevB Posted August 26, 2016 Share Posted August 26, 2016 (edited) Probably ELO (more to their older material) but I was on the cusp of getting into the heavier and more progressive bands around that time too. Even then I tended to listen more retrospectively to the older bands than those that were 'relavent' at the time. However NWOBHM happened around then so rock suddenly came to the fore again.
