Helderius
Hi, I have checked a Fender Jazz Jaco Pastorius from a friend and I noticed something strange. It seems the Decall on the headstock easily peels off. There is no varnish on top off it. Is this normal??? Emanew
Yes completly. Till the late 60s, the decal was applied on top of the clear coat as Leo F. did. Your "Jaco" is a 62 reissue so it is period correct. I own several reissues, 62' JB and a 63' PB, it is the same thing. Take care of your headstock Check this https://books.google.fr/books?id=rC2X0BiF2ZMC&pg=PA1999-IA6&lpg=PA1999-IA6&dq=the+bass+decal+was+applied+on+top+of+the+clear+coat+as+Leo+fender&source=bl&ots=eam4c8EWj1&sig=lxFTvpVAFl3nmUV8Ffql-x6ZE0I&hl=fr&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjNs6CgyefOAhVjIJoKHTdRA7oQ6AEIHDAA#v=onepage&q=the%20bass%20decal%20was%20applied%20on%20top%20of%20the%20clear%20coat%20as%20Leo%20fender&f=false Edited August 29, 2016 by Emanew
