Funky Dunky Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 (edited) Oh my, this dude has taste. http://equipboard.com/pros/jason-newsted#bass-guitars 9 Sadowskys. NINE! http://www.metallicaworld.co.uk/jason_newsted_equipment_list.htm Edit - I clearly cannot count. Mr Newsted has TEN Sadowskys. Edited September 1, 2016 by Funky Dunky Quote
Thunderbird Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Great stuff and newstead is such an under rated player imo Quote
Funky Dunky Posted September 1, 2016 Author Posted September 1, 2016 (edited) Yarr. I think he's a terrific metal player, and I'd bet decent money that he can do a lot more. A real student of the bass, and he got a terrible time from many quarters for not being as flash or flamboyant as Cliff. Proper gearhead, too. Edited September 1, 2016 by Funky Dunky Quote
lemmywinks Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Metallica's best sounding bass player by a country mile, some nice fretless lines tucked away in there too. Mind you I bet even I would struggle to make his gear sound bad! Quote
Graham Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 My favorite Metallica bassist, had the best lines IMO I'm not sure I'd trust that first site the OP linked to, under the Rob Trujillo section, they left off the Fernandes Gravity he's playing in the picture of him............... Quote
ped Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Check this site out http://www.freewebs.com/jasonfan/premetallica.htm Tons of pages with photographic evidence. Quote
dudewheresmybass Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Cracking site ped. However the 'early dean' pictured there looks more like a vigier to me Quote

Skybone Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 He was better in Flotsam & Voivod than Metallica, you could actually hear him playing. Quote
thodrik Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I always liked his playing, especially when he started becoming more audible in the mix. I would like to hear a properly remixed version of And Justice For All. Quote

I'm pretty sure they'll do an official one soon, they've done Kill Em All and Ride The Lightning pretty recently... one can but hope Quote
Damonjames Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 No on mentions the Spector JN, he and a signature model Quote
