Looks nice, for sure. But I thought piezos need batteries? I can't see anything looking like a battery box.

Not necessarily. I have a Fernandes Pie-zo bass, and although it does have a battery, it's there just to power the built-in amp and speaker. Plugged in to my bass rig it works fine with the battery switched off.
