zonular
I know Yamaha, squier cv get a look in but anyone rocking any godin basses over the years?
SICbass
I love 'em. I've never owned one, but the fretless acoustic/electric ones with the very 'flat' body shape are ace. They can do a usable double-bass simulation if you pluck over the neck and drop the highs. Abe Labiriel seemed to like his back in the 90s. yorks5stringer
Yep I had an A5 which sounded ace. They do some solid body ones too, seen a few at Bassgear.
zonular
Debating between a yammy bb414/415 or a s/h Godin sd4 or new freeway
MoonBassAlpha
I think Godin gear is pretty well made, but certainly the guitars for some reason don't seem to hold their value, but it does make them a very good s/h buy. I imagine the basses to be the same.
Paul S
I have a Godin LR Baggs acoustibass, a fretted one in black, that I bought fairly cheaply because it is a bit scruffy and the electrics didn't work. Had the electrics sorted now and it is pretty good stuff. I rarely have occasion to use it and mostly it sits in the case but I am loath to sell it as Sod's Law dictates the day I do move it on will be the day I need a semi-acoustic for something. 6feet7
I've had two LR Baggs Acoustibasses and one SD5. All brilliant basses. I don't know why they arnt as well known as other brands as they are superb instruments.
stu_g
I have two 1997 BG basses a four and a five string both with emg pickups and schaller fittings there very good basses and were pretty pricey when new, which makes them a real bargain nowadays if you can find them. alembic1989
I don't own one..but I'm impressed by the tone of the 5 string fretles Ultra's.
GuyR
I have a fretless A5. Great sound, brilliant for noodling unplugged, very good value second hand.
NancyJohnson
I've never seen one I didn't like the look of, but I couldn't actually see myself buying one.
AustinArto
I had one of the first Acoustibasses back in 1994, mine was a black fretless, sounded great but sucked to play live because of neck dive. Used it to record for a few years though.
