warwickhunt
He says it's a Musicman Sterling... it says it is a Stingray on the headstock... but which one of the licensed copies is it really? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ernie-ball-sterling-music-man-5-string-bass-/131930569224? BassTractor
To my eyes it looks exactly like a Sterling by Music Man S.U.B. Ray5-BK/M. However, I haven't looked at Chinese knockoffs (Dasyatis sinensis) lately, so it might be a newer one of those as well. A any rate, someone is trying to fool someone else, even if it's only with "careful" wording and bad English. The term "S.U.B." is never used in the ad, and the word "Sterling" only in the title. Mucho piscarado! I'm sure he bought it straight from the Ernie Ball factory in San Luis Obispo, FLORIDA. BassTractor
Seller/trickster states the serial number is "sterling 8038536". I'll check on the Ernie Ball forum for you, as I suppose you're on the Warwick forum.
Mattpt85
I'm thinking it could be a stingray neck on a sterling body.
BassTractor
I'm thinking it could be a stingray neck on a sterling body.
Nah. It's a Stingray body alright. A Sterling is slanted in its design, and has more of a slab approach. I think it's just someone bought an S.U.B. and wanted it to give the impression it was one from California, but failed at that. Might be the seller, or might be a previous owner.
