MisterT Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Anyone else on here listen to Freekbass' broadcast every Friday night? It's been running quite a few months now, really good (IMHO) if you're a funkateer and covers a wide spectrum. Some nights are hit and miss but generally the funk is strong - expect some Ohio Players, Funkadelic, Cameo, Eddie Hazel, Bootsy, The Meters, Stevie Wonder, Brothers Johnson and such like along with more modern things thrown in. Chris and his co-host (also Chris) have a boatload of info on songs and artists along the way - plenty of stuff I'd never heard of. spike Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Didn't know about that one but I always enjoy listening to the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show on radio 6 on my way to a gig on a Saturday evening. Quote
MisterT Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 (edited) Be prepared for:- a} Schoolboy dj errors b} "Alright" being the first word spoken after most tracks c} Asking co-host Chris Donnelly "how ya doin' there Chris?" about 10 times a show with Chris finding it increasingly difficult to answer in different ways d} Funk. Fully-loaded funk - hence a, b and c go out the window There, you have been warned but I'm addicted, usually end up scouring youtube et al for tracks and artists the following week.
