Not sure about this but I want to get hold of a Fender Custom Shop P Bass (either 51, 54 or post-58 style) or a lightweight 70's P Bass for a new project. In order to fund it, I am putting up my recently acquired Mike Lull PJ4.

It's a December 13 model in a gorgeous Brownburst finish with matching headstock ($200 cost option) and comes with certificate and Mike Lull branded Protec Contego gigbag. It weighs 8lbs and the Fralin pickups sound wonderful. It's just been set up and strung with TI Flats and the action is low and very fast. The body is Alder.

The bass is in superb condition but does have some buckle rash (although not through the lacquer and difficult to photograph). Other than that, it's in super nick overall. These Lull basses are something else and if I could afford to hold on to it I most certainly would. Brand new this would be in excess of £2,500.

I'm looking for £1,500 plus postage.

just a bump, to say Old Horse Murphy is a top guy - deal in full confidence BC'ers
Also, that is a lovely looking bass matey

and P.S. Have you tried a Fender Roadworn P? I love mine, it's lightweight, comfortable to play and just sheer joy...
Might be the sort of thing you're after (mine isn't for sale / trade..... ever)
You'd be welcome to come try it if you're ever in the fair city of Cardiff. PS. Bring an umberella ;)

Great price for a wonderful luthier, and Fralin pickups too....mmmm.....

My Lull PJ4 is defineitely a 'take to the grave' bass.

The 1 3/4 necks on these are the most comfy 1 3/4 I've ever played, makes you wonder why Fender never made them like this?

GLWTS Nick, someone is getting a great deal.
