Rob MacKillop
Hi again (it has been a few years since my last visit) from Edinburgh. Just thought I'd say hello. I got a Danelectro "Dead On 58" a few days ago. I tried stringing it with Thomastik short-scale flats - all went well until the fourth string, which was too thick for the tuner hole. I yanked it through, and ruined the string. The guitar is ok, but I'm left with three flats and one low E roundwound. Any recommendations for a flatwound 4th that might fit through the hole? Anyway, I love this bass already. Such a great neck. The tone is to my liking, which is just as well, as no matter where I turn the tone knobs to, it always sounds the same! Here's one of my first doodles, half blues, half middle-easternish: Going through a PJB Double 4, which I like a lot. Anyway, nice to meet you. Rob Edited September 13, 2016 by Rob MacKillop
