I imagine it allows you to "become one" with that one bass and really get to grips with it. But what bass will you keep? For me I'd have to select from PJ fretted PJ fretless Jazz-style fretted P bass (I've already discounted 5 strings... I could cut my basses down from 5 to 3 but I can't bring myself to do this. If space gets tight one of the kids'll have to go. I've got a spare so that's not a problem. I'm thinking of selling 4 and buying 1 nice one to replace them. 3 basses seems about the right number. 1 pickup bass in the house for grabbing and playing/recording when needed and 2 for gigging? [/quote] Same for me, I've cut down a fair bit over the last couple of years as I no longer play bass in a band (I'm more of a drummer these days) and even though there's almost nothing I actually want... It was quite cathartic, to be honest, it was akin to offloading a load of surplus baggage. I then got a call from someone and the floodgates opened. Again.
