alyctes
Bass Collection SGC Nanyo SB301. P/J passive four-string, black. Nut is 39mm wide; weight is 3.1kg (6.9lb in old money). This is not labelled as Made In Japan, and therefore is probably from the pre-production series made in Korea when BC were moving production out of Japan. It has a few minor bumps and dings, but nothing nasty. The main issue with it is that the trussrod is maxed out. This may be fixable, but I haven't the skills or the time. The action is rather high as a result. Possibly related, the fingerboard/neck joint is a little too prominent, near the nut. This is stable (I've had the bass since March 2012), but I've not moved the trussrod in this time. Overall, I think it needs attention from someone who knows what they're doing. Thus, sold as a project. There is a whisper on two of the pots when they are moved (not a crackle). It comes with a cheapo gig bag; it will be decently packed, or delivered if it can be arranged (I'm in east Dorset). TheGreek
Isn't there a "How to change a truss rod thread here somewhere"?
Bassassin
I've [s]bodged[/s] sorted a maxed-out rod in the past by taking off the adjuster nut & popping 2 or 3 washers behind it. Might depend on the type of rod whether this is a solution though.
alyctes
Thanks, gentlemen - appreciated. I'll have a look. I do need to get rid of it though - repaired/bodged or not.

jahfish
I would not go down the route of removing the fretboard etc - the bass just isn't worth that time and work. The non-Japanese versions come up on Ebay regularly and don't fetch much sadly. There are other ways to release a jammed trussrod though - I've been there. It may be jammed as there's too much pressure on it from the bend in the neck and/or the strings being at tension. What is the profile of the neck as it is now, does it have a front or back bow? alyctes
It's bowed forward, evenly as far as I can see (I can't see any sign of a ski-jump).
