Over the past years I seem to have changed string quite quite often in an attempt to find which does it for me. Rotosound to DR Sunbeams to DR Lo-Riders, etc. As a result I have discovered that I have a large collection of strings, some of which have hardly been used and which are taking up space. They are now sorted and packaged however they hardly worth selling. What should I do with them? Recycle? Anybody want any?

I have once or twice put some old packs of strings up on here for free to anyone who sends me a self addressed jiffy bag and I put them in the post for them FOC :)

Thanks for the comments. Not sure about offering as a raffle prize but I'll happily give them in return for a donation to BC or the SE Bash Charity. I'll take them with me to the Bash next weekend

Offer them to a local FE college that run a music course - often there's very little budget for that sort of thing, or see if a local music shop has a roster of young students who might need them.

i work in a FE/HE college and after changing the strings on the college basses just leave the old ones on my desk for any student to take, they go surprisingly quickly and there isn't much life left in the strings, so students will bite your hand off for some semi bright strings!
