I've got a brand new Fender Standard MIJ P-Bass in shiny black with a white pickguard.

I fancy a different pickguard to give it a bit of character, but not sure what colour to go for.

Any ideas ?? ( preferably with pictures to show the overall effect )

Anodised-gold scratch-plates look great on black instruments:

To be honest they look great on any instrument – I have one on my sunburst Precision :)

Yep! My CIJ with a rosewood board has a 3 ply black plate on it.. very nice! I like the white pin stripe round the edge of the guard!! - I'll get a picture up soon!

It's not B, it's BWB - trust me, that thin strip of white stands out better than most photos show. In the case of my Bronco, the nice shiny lipstick pickup I plan to put in it will certainly jump out :)
