Hamster
Just listening through them now. Ain't Nobody - Keys are behind the beat, as are the guitar(s) to a lesser extent, the first guitar being off more than the second. Mercy - tighter, but the keys are still a little off. Lady Marmalade - tighter still, didn't like the patches chosen by keyboard. Master Blaster - Tight, but didn't like the keyboard patches again Bass and drums locked together well on all the songs. nottswarwick
very nice Luke. Great sound and a good tight live performance. I think any timing issues are minimal IMHO. Love the drummer too. Great vox - lead and BV. Out of interes what is your bass setup on this recording?
lukeward2004
Hamster - I agree, this was a one take recording from a gig and my keys player spends a large amount of his energy bouncing around and going "mad" on stage, so its no surprise he's a little off! Nottswarwick - Thanks mate, my drummer is pretty good, he's the one who took the mix out of the desk and mixed it. Im thinking of using this as our demo to give to agents, is it good enough? I think it is. Backing vocals where performed by myself, our rhythm guitarist and our drummer, with my keys player singing on Lady Marmalade too. Bass rig is just my usual live rig - Vigier into Bass Pod, into Aural Exciter and then into Poweramp which drives my Epifani UL310. The sound on the recording is a DI from the Model output on the back of my bass POD, so you cant hear the aphex or the cab at all, just what the desk was hearing with a touch of emulated Tube pre-amp thanks to the bass Pod! lukeward2004
Forgot to mention, my singer was in the ACM Gospel choir, then left just before the choir went on TV (on The Last Choir Standing). I went along to watch the choir rehearse at the boiler room in Guildford, all of them are fantastic singers!
stonecoldbass
Hi Luke, Fantastic recordings mate! Really really like the kit sound, this was a live gig you say?! Great to hear tunes being faithfully recreated with attention to proper parts and sounds and played well too! Y'all sound grand! c
