LewisK1975
Spotted this, it's near me and may pick it up if it stays this low. Any ideas on the maker?, that truss rod adjustment looks a little unique? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Bass-Guitar-70s-80s-Unkown-Maker-Needs-a-Little-TLC-Lots-of-Pics-/191980028824?hash=item2cb2e6c398:g:D-YAAOSwOyJX6D03

If you adjust one, you need to bend the neck and then tighten the TR. Don't just crank it tighter and tighter, or they break. I know this! (It was a long time ago) I think thats a Kays bass from the 80's, but Jon will be along in a mo' and tell me I'm wrong
Twigman
I think thats a Kays bass from the 80's, but Jon will be along in a mo' and tell me I'm wrong
I had an 80s Kay '57' style P-bass It didn't have TR adjuster like that and didn't have black plastic knobs either However - the 3TSB finish on the body looks remarkably similar to my old Kay. Edit: mine was a 79 Edited September 27, 2016 by Twigman

http://wietsesguitar.../pagina465.html Some of these - later ones, I'd guess - had Japanese hardware - this one has Gotoh tuners, shame one's missing as they're decent quality. Most of these seem to be unbranded in the UK. Edited September 27, 2016 by Bassassin

tauzero
Or you could recut the nut and have a three-string bass for those with fat fingers.
