Kevin Dean
I'm thinking about getting a Ashdown 12" white coned lightweight cab to see how it compares to my barefaced super compacts , The Ashdown is rated at 300w & the Barfaced 600w both 8 ohms If both were connected to the same 4 ohm amp , would the Ashdown 300w cab be driven harder ? Merton
No, the power is split by impedance, not the power handling of the driver.
Spike Vincent
No.Power rating of the speakers is unimportant, as long as they're both 8 ohms they will both receive the same amount of power fro the amp.
el borracho
Did you get one - I've been thinking of trying the same? If you did what was the result?

If you did what was the result? [/quote]I now use two Ashdoen RM cabs with Sica drivers as I preferred the sound ,I only had the Sica drivers fitted to handles the ABM1000 when used . But the White cone is pretty good ,It's actually a Blue line speaker .
Roland Rock
Like others say, not driven harder in that it would recieve the same power from the amp. However, the one with the lower rating may be so because of lower excursion/other reasons. Therefore it might be 'driven harder' ie pushed to its limit more.
