bubinga5
Like the title says. How do you wash yours.? I wonder if you can machine wash the.? I'm thinking about putting it in the washing machine, but I'm not sure if the sponge will retain the water. franzbassist
I suspect that, even if you could fit a bag in the machine, it wouldn't respond well to doing it. Perhaps just a wipe down with a damp cloth?
gary mac
I had one a while back that stunk of stale smoke from its previous owner. Put it in the washing machine on one of the gentler programmes and it came out just fine and smell free.
SICbass
I wouldn't worry about the sponge retaining water. It will probably dry quicker than the other materials. Depending how big the zip is, you can probably turn the bag (even if only partially) inside out. This should speed up the drying time. Geek99
Wash as normal with a low spin. I received one that was mouldy and stank of fags and it came up pristine. Unzip it fully and turn it inside out. Unless it has any leather on it, obviously
Bolo
Took the gigbag that came with my SR5 to a drycleaner's. Very happy I did, cleared all olfactory memories right out. It wasn't expensive either.
TimR
Hand wash it in the bath?

The wife said there is no way I'm putting it in the washing machine😁
Geek99
Mine actually suggested it - it worked out fine

bassbiscuits
I washed one that had gone abut mildew and it came out fine and fully refreshed. As long as you don't overdo it and stick to a cool wash there's no problem. Take the bass out first tho.
bubinga5
Well for one thing I know the Mono bags are rresistant . Mono told me that the inside protection is not just foam, its a poly plastic foam with some sort of glue bonded with it that doesnt absorb water.?Me and the wife went out for dinner last night and I left it in the bath. This bag has been floating on the top for 17 hours. There is no wet inside the bag at all. I've been informed by the guys at Mono. From there advise i scrubbed it in the bath then put it in the shower to drain all the soap out of it. I think it's important to not use detergent. Just washing up liquid. The detergent will eat away at some fabrics. Drying it in a normal temp room. I don't know which fabrics are involved but best not take the risk with a £150 bag. If I turn up at my next live appointment with my bass in a bin liner, it didn't go well. Edited October 6, 2016 by bubinga5
TimR
There's a lot of water in that bath! I think you should have added some Matey. And some candles.

bassbiscuits
That is a genius experiment! I'm surprised it actually floated that long - learn something new every day!

Has anyone tried to put a surfboard under water.? That's the pressure I had to put down on it. Obviously the zip makes the bag non water proof. But carrying this bag in light rain with my bass inside is cool with me.
